She looks good, has a great career with plenty of holidays, from the face of it has a fantastic husband and marriage. And most importantly she comes across like she is a fantastic mother. So patient and calm. Im jealous but admire her too in equal measures. AIBU??????

No she's not dim. You do need to be smart and quick to do live TV.

ShowerGel9 · 28/01/2018 21:20

She started of pissing and farting about on a kids show on CITV. Literally just joking about like a kid presenting daft stuff. Being told which camera to look at...learning it all quickly....years later got a job presenting X factor the extra...where she was probably told what to do and say and there all she did was joke about.

No she's landing a spot on TM because she's 'in' and she's way out of her depth intellectually and getting paid all that money for it when someone could hold an interview so much better. She probably is sincere as some of the stories they cover are upsetting and she's only human. She is not up to having the privilege of TV tho.

ShowerGel9 · 28/01/2018 21:23

TM. Not TV...as she was quite good on CITV . More 'her'

Nothing wrong with that btw. Everyone has their 'thing'

thiskittenbarks · 28/01/2018 21:44

I knew someone who taught her at school and said she was a massive nightmarish princess prima-Donna-zilla type character! From what they said her persona must involve a fair bit of acting! Not been able to think about her the same way since!

TheHolidayArmadillo · 28/01/2018 21:45

The amount of TM "bloopers" doing the rounds doesn't really help the "you have to be mega intelligent to do live tv" argument. MY SIL shares them on almost a daily basis.

MamaMiaReboot · 28/01/2018 21:47

Mama. You have lost me. I'm obviously as dim as HW Grin

@ShowerGek

You are not dim! I was just being silly, referencing the teenagers around me who keep yelling “booyah”! And turnout it around that’s all Grin

Whatislife123 · 28/01/2018 21:54

She does have a tendancy to make out that her life is hunky dory in interviews which makes me wonder if she is being entirely truthful.

Her husband isn't attractive at allGrin

MamaMiaReboot · 28/01/2018 22:05

Her husband isn't attractive at all

I Bethesda got a huge ....

MamaMiaReboot · 28/01/2018 22:06

Wtf? Bet. Bet. Not bethesda. 🙄

Bluntness100 · 28/01/2018 22:09

Bluntness, come on...are you REALLY suggesting success and money are intrinsically linked to intelligence and that one CANNOT be successful without being smart?

Yes of course I am. It doesn't mean there are not other factors that drive that success, but to suggest she is below average intelligence ( and I can assure you average intelligence is actually quite low at an IQ of 100) is very offensive. Yes, some intelligent people are not successful, again because of those other factors.

Why can't women simply celebrate a successful women, why all the insults?

Sallystyle · 28/01/2018 22:13

I see nothing genuine about Holly.

I might be wrong of course. I think she is as genuine as Amanda Holden.

Emma Willis. Yes, naturally stunning, and genuinely seems warm and caring.

myrootsareshowing · 28/01/2018 22:14

I think she loves herself a little !!

Sparklingbrook · 28/01/2018 22:15

I wouldn't want to go to the pub with HW or Amanda Holden. They would talk about me while I was at the bar I reckon.

But I think Emma Willis would be lovely.

Sallystyle · 28/01/2018 22:23

I have no idea about Holly's intelligence levels.

Take Cheryl Cole (can't remember her new surname). No one could argue that she is academically intelligent, but she clearly has drive and knows how to play the cards she has been dealt to her full advantage. It's a form of intelligence.

Despite not liking HW much, I do admire people who have the drive to go for what they want and succeed. Luck and looks is a massive part of it, but hard work and dedication has to go along with it too.

DailyMaui · 28/01/2018 22:23

Being a successful presenter is about many, many things. It is rarely about intelligence. It is usually about being the right look, at the right time in the right place with an executive champion. In the beginning it is about someone with clout in the production process getting you on TV. After that it is part personality, part script, part luck, part support from people in charge.

Holly is everything ITV loves at the moment.

BatFaceGal · 28/01/2018 22:28

Ugh. A thread filled with jealous women pulling apart another woman's looks and achievements.

Sparklingbrook · 28/01/2018 22:28

lol at 'jealous' Grin

WitchesHatRim · 28/01/2018 22:29

A thread filled with jealous women

Nope not jealous in the slightest.

Sparklingbrook · 28/01/2018 22:29

I would agree with that Daily, I mean look at Tess Daly...

Bluntness100 · 28/01/2018 22:31

Ugh. A thread filled with jealous women pulling apart another woman's looks and achievements

Agree. I hate these threads where a successful woman is insulted. I see no need for it. We should celebrate each other's success, not be insulting some one because they are attractive, wealthy and successful.

It's horrible that some women feel the need to do it.

Sallystyle · 28/01/2018 22:32
Grin

That old jealous shit again.

I am not jealous of any celeb. I very much envy the money though.

I tell a lie. I am jealous of Tess Daly because she got to meet U2. That bitch!

Sallystyle · 28/01/2018 22:37

We should celebrate each other's success, not be insulting some one because they are attractive, wealthy and successful.

As I said, I admire her success. Good for her.

I am not insulting her because she is successful and pretty. I just don't like her smugness or simpering and I don't feel she is genuine.

Emma Willis is equally as successful and I wouldn't say a bad word about her. It has nothing to do with her money or success for me.

VladmirsPoutine · 28/01/2018 22:38

Holly is horrendous. She's bloody awful. She should thank her lucky stars that someone somewhere looked at her and saw potential. She's horrific. As is her co-presenter Phil - he's even worse.

Alloftheboys · 28/01/2018 22:38

@U2HasTheEdge but Tess has the misfortune to be married to Vernon.

The sexting little shite.
