To want my boobs back

Dishwashersaurous · 27/01/2018 22:22

I've always been average size with proportionately bigger boobs. Perfectly happy with how I looked. Clothes etc to fit. Then had two children and bf them both and my boobs have completely disappeared. They are really, really small. None of my old clothes suit or fit and I look out of proportion. So aibu to want my old boobs back and how do I make them bigger. And I feel that someone should have warned me about this before having children.

Surgery would be the only way to "make them bigger"!

PaperdollCartoon · 27/01/2018 22:25

Surgery is pretty much the only option. Good bras can give you a better look with clothes on. I really like my boobs, I’d be very open to surgery if they go downhill in future.

ruleshelpcontrolthefun · 27/01/2018 22:27

I'm getting mine done. People can judge but my 32DDs look like empty sports socks now.

LadyBunnysWig · 27/01/2018 22:29

I'm heartbroken about the loss of mine.
I think when I'm done having and feeding children I will start saving for a boob job.

Rebeccaslicker · 27/01/2018 22:40

Wish you could have some of mine. I hate the massive saggy balloon monsters - and the bastards didn't shrink so much as an inch or part of a cup size when I stopped breast feeding :((

I think smaller is better but if you're really unhappy maybe look at different bras or have a chat with a surgeon?

mumpoints · 27/01/2018 22:43

Have mine! Mine were always bigger than I liked (not huge, but the sort of clothes I like don't suit big boobs) and when I had DS they went huge and stayed huge :(

Dishwashersaurous · 27/01/2018 22:45

Mumpoints, if only we could swap!

Dishwashersaurous Me too. They are wasted on me lol!

Bluntness100 · 27/01/2018 22:46

This is a common side effect of breastfeeding for many women, there is little to be done, but exercise may help tone the muscle up.and a good bra will help with clothes.

beela · 28/01/2018 08:02

In a similar boat. I've lost lots of weight too and my boobs have shrunk over 6 months from a 34gg to a (saggy Sad) 32e. I feel completely flat chested and don't know what to wear. I feel out of proportion too. I think investing in good scaffolding is the only option.

I think the last time I was an e cup was when I was a teenager - I'm 39 now!

booboobutt · 28/01/2018 08:04

How long has it been since you stopped feeding? They do plump up again. Mine were sort of "empty" feeling after breastfeeding but within a year they were back to normal. Everyone is different but it might be a case of wait and see.

beela · 28/01/2018 08:04

Rebecca & mumpoints when did you finish bf? I read that it's about 18 months after you stop that your boobs shrink. Was certainly true for me, though that coincided with my weight loss too. But there may be hope yet for you??

SusanBunch · 28/01/2018 08:05

And I feel that someone should have warned me about this before having children

Would this have made a difference to your decision to have kids though? Plus I have always heard people say they lost their boobs from breastfeeding so I guess that IS warning others.

Pleasedontdrawonyoursister · 28/01/2018 08:06

Mine went from a 32C to a non existent 32AA (they don’t even fit, but I can get away with wearing one to give the illusion I have something!). I was saving for surgery already but have just found out I am pg again so I will wait until I have finished bf this one. I think people can underestimate how miserable it makes you feel. I am quite slim so I have the body of a teenage boy! I hate it and can’t wait to get my boobs back.

DonnaMoss · 28/01/2018 08:09

I'm in the same boat OP although not through breast feeding but losing weight. I'm mortified by my empty saggy little windsocks. They're just flaps of skin now. If I'd have known this would happen before I lost the weight, I would have seriously considered not bothering with the diet.

Frouby · 28/01/2018 08:09

Mine are massive after bfing ds for 18 months. And he is 4 now so I think I am stuck with them.

Am currently a 36 hh. Always been big but now they are comedy boobs. And last yr I was a stone lighter and still big. When I was in my 20s I was a size 10 and still big.

You can definetly have a few cups of mine.

Bellamuerte · 28/01/2018 08:10

Is this a well known side effect of bf? I'm pregnant and was planning to bf but might change my mind if my boobs are going to vanish!

littlecabbage · 28/01/2018 08:14

BF doesn't always cause them to go though - mine are actually a cup size bigger than before (used to be B cup, now C cup), and not really saggier. I think weight loss can definitely contribute to loss of breasts.

But have always wanted breast implants as I have curvy hips, and want to be in proprtion so am planning for that still. If I had slimmer hips, I would be happy to stay as I am Hmm.

ExpectingToFly · 28/01/2018 08:17

I only bf for 4 weeks and then my boobs just vanished. I always had small b cups but at least they were perky! Now they are just empty flaps and I feel so unhappy. I also have no feeling in my nipples Confused anyone else get this?

RadioGaGoo · 28/01/2018 08:18

It can be Bellamuerte, but like most things, there are both benefits and negatives to breastfeeding.

Pluckedpencil · 28/01/2018 08:24

I think it is having babies rather than breastfeeding. Even if you don't breast feed, they are going to expand when your milk comes in and then deflate again, even if you choose not to feed. And obviously losing weight adds to the problem. Main thing is to lose weight when you're young when your skin is more elastic and keep it off. Yeah, so easy with toddlers to lose all that weight when all you want is wine and biscuits!!

ZoopDragon · 28/01/2018 08:25

I think it's the weight loss that breastfeeding causes, I'm the thinnest I've been in a decade. I recently weaned and haven't gained it back yet. My boobs have shrunk but I'm hoping they fill out again when I gain weight! My mum went from an A to a C after breastfeeding.

Sadly I stopped about 15 months ago and no sign of any shrinkage!

Baby 2 is due in April so let's see if that one can have a more reductive effect...

Macarena1990 · 28/01/2018 08:32

Yes zoopdragon, but a very unpopular thing to admit on mumsnet!

With only a couple of exceptions, my friends/relatives who breastfed all complain about saggy boobs. Those who formula fed report little change, in fact I’d say mine are pretty much the same as before i had my 3 children. My stomach however...
