The press seem to like writing about this woman as a "victim".
AIBU to wish she'd get arrested for obtaining the Tramadol illegally when she gets off the plane back here?

TheQueenOfWands · 27/01/2018 20:03

How did she get it?

Did she buy it on the deep web or similar?

Sparklesdontshine · 27/01/2018 20:04

She hasn’t been freed yet.

JJPP123 · 27/01/2018 20:06

Same as that girl who was caught in Peru. One of them.came home, got a job and kept quiet the other is now a z list celeb. For being a drug dealer.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/01/2018 20:15

I don't think it's fair either. Of course it must have been an absolute living night mare for both her and her family. I'd be beyond hysterical if it were my daughter.
However She knowingly took illegal products into a another country. 2.90. Now had she sold them at just say for arguments sake £20 each. She'd have been on to a bloody good thing. Yes I know and I do believe that she took them over for her partner.
I can't help thinking either and I get this sounds pathetic, but Would she be getting released and all this fuss made of her if she was a Waynetta Slob as apose to being a pretty face Grace.
However I don't think she should be arrested here. She's committed no crime on British Soil. If they Egyptians don't give a shit and are prepared to let her off. Why should The British legal system punish her for them.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/01/2018 20:16

Hər release has only been held up by a day due to red tape. She's already been pardoned.

SashaSashays · 27/01/2018 20:20

Surely she should only be arrested in this country if she's committed a crime under our laws, which I didn't think she had.

I actually thought she did seem a bit of a Waynetta Slob, so I don't think that got anything to do with it.

BoneyBackJefferson · 27/01/2018 20:20

There are enough people willing to believe that she is a victim.

ThePinkOcelot · 27/01/2018 20:23

I don’t think she’s really guilty of being anything but stupid.

greendale17 · 27/01/2018 20:28

She’s guilty of obtaining prescription drugs that were not for her. I hope the police investigate this idiot woman

Rachie1973 · 27/01/2018 20:30

You can pretty much buy most drugs online without using the deep web.

She committed a crime, and they pardoned her.

That's it.

She ain't out yet, OP.

maddiemookins16mum · 27/01/2018 20:33

She's been very stupid. I do however think the ordeal that she's been through will stay with her (and her family) for a very long time.

SauvignonBlanche · 27/01/2018 20:33

Yes she is, Tramadol is a prescription only drug and a Controlled substance

Rachie1973 · 27/01/2018 20:33

Ginger1982
Stupid bitch should stay in the jail. If you break the laws of a country you need to accept the consequences.

She did though didn't she?

They pardoned her. Are you seriously suggesting she should beg them to put her back in?

ilovesooty · 27/01/2018 20:33

If she was in illegal possession of Tramadol here here I hope that she is investigated along with whoever supplied it to her.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 27/01/2018 20:34

Surely she should only be arrested in this country if she's committed a crime under our laws, which I didn't think she had.

Well I'm sure they would love to know where she got that volume of a controlled drug from for starters.

Voice0fReason · 27/01/2018 20:35

Likely to? So you are just guessing, assuming that she will sell her story. Even if she does, she won't earn that much money from it. It hardly compensates for what she has been through.

She's no victim, but she is stupid. She has paid the price for that stupidity. I don't care if she gives a few interviews for a few quid. It might warn other people not to do the same thing.

Tistheseason17 · 27/01/2018 20:35

Phew, thought I was being irrationally angry, but if I am then at least I'm not alone, Thanks, everyone!

I just can't pity someone who gets a friend to sort them for (no legsl prescription); splits 290 Tramadol into separate containers to hide them and then proclaims, "I didn't know it was illegal"

And if she gets on, "This Morning", I think I may just explode! Grin

wakemeupbefore · 27/01/2018 20:37

Sadly, stupidity is not, as of yet, a crime punishable by law. If it were, Mumsnet would be a very lonely place.
Hmm

Ginger1982 · 27/01/2018 20:38

Rachie, she was only pardoned because people here caused such a stink about it and said how ridiculous it was and put pressure on Egypt, not because she didn't do anything wrong.

viques · 27/01/2018 20:38

well she's missed Celeb BB........but I expect they will ask her onto Loose Women, This Morning and all the other tell us your sob story shows. I hope the police do investigate where she got the drugs from though, and charge her if necessary.

eddiemairswife · 27/01/2018 20:39

I've just read that the police here are going to investigate how she got hold of that number of tablets.
I'm more concerned about the woman(Nadine..?) in gaol in Iran. Boris needs to be devoting his time to that, instead of being a thorn in the PM's side.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/01/2018 20:40

I bet you a pound She'll be on
'I'm a Celebrity get me out of here' In the next few years.

Tistheseason17 · 27/01/2018 20:40

Me, too @viques
