To think frozen stir fry vegetables are better than sliced bread?

I can't get enough of it! So cheap to buy, lots of different veg, no waste and cooked in a few minutes.
Best thing ever as I hate cold salad but this stuff is delicious, even without any sauces.
Yum! Grin

Where do you buy it from? I always find it so watery!

TossDaily · 27/01/2018 14:18

I like frozen soffrito and frozen chopped onions too.

When I think of the hours I've wasted chopping onions...

Auspiciouspanda · 27/01/2018 14:19

Totally agree - also frozen Mediterranean veg. So much more convenient then the trays. (Food waste etc)

MayFayner · 27/01/2018 14:20

What brand? I've only tried watery crap ones.

thewanderer03 · 27/01/2018 14:21

Asda have frozen veg bags in all different flavours/veg mixes and they come in individual packets...life changing!

Rudeolf · 27/01/2018 14:23

It might be better to defrost & drain them first. But then that would take as much time as chopping a fresh one.

I do use them though

GinYummy · 27/01/2018 14:25

I buy all of mine from Aldi, never had a problem with them being watery.

I didn’t even know this existed. You might have changed my life!

ineedwine99 · 27/01/2018 14:52

Frozen red onion from asda has been great! And frozen chopped garlic

Bodear · 27/01/2018 14:54

Wait, I’ve just tried to add it to my Tesco order and it’s not there. Is it specifically called stir fry veg?

BlackPeppercorn · 27/01/2018 14:57

I have frozen garlic, onions, chilli, ginger, coriander, and a stockpile of jars of red, chilli, and green pesto.
I can have a sauce for pasta on the go within about 30 seconds of walking in the door. Changed my life, discovering frozen herbs.

GetShitDone · 27/01/2018 15:02

@bodear this is the one I can get at my Tesco

To think frozen stir fry vegetables are better than sliced bread?
isseywithcats · 27/01/2018 15:06

not if you dont like peppers or sweetcorn like me, have yet to find one that dosent include one or the other or both, and i like my stir fry crisp so i do fresh veggies every time dosent take long with a grater attachment on a food processor

DiplomaticDecorum · 27/01/2018 15:09

But then you have to clean the processor, the whole point of frozen veg is convenience, and I'm a convert. I even tried carrots - bad move, very bad move.

Frozen carrots are lovely in carrot & coriander soup.

mumpoints · 27/01/2018 15:12

Which make do you buy OP? I always find they don't crisp up enough for me.

MikeUniformMike · 27/01/2018 15:12

YABU. You can't make toast from stir-fry veg.

Loonoonow · 27/01/2018 15:18

I am a trusting soul OP so have taken your word for it and added a bag to my next order. How do you prepare them? As they suggest or do you have your own technique?

Lunde · 27/01/2018 15:24

I am glad my student DD has discovered these - she can eat veg within her budget

Bodear · 27/01/2018 15:27
