Emma McVey - 28lbs Weight loss 10 days after giving birth

Just been reading about Emma McVey in the paper - she has managed to lose 28lbs just 10 days after giving birth & is back to the weight she was before being pregnant! Shock

Now I don't really care about celebrities & the stories printed about them. I always think each to their own & whatever makes you happy, but this has really got my goat!

AIBU to think that this is completely ridiculous? Why the hell would you be so concerned with losing weight straight after giving birth? Surely you would have more important things to think about & you'd be enjoying your new baby!

This woman sounds silly but it is perfectly possible to lose that much very quickly after baby. I gained 2.5 stone and lost 1.5 in delivery then another 0.5 in the week after. Was eating loads and barely moving.

I came out of hospital after dd1 and within 10 days I had lost 44lbs. It was all water weight. I could sot on the loo and pee for 10 minutes at a time.
28lbs after you have given birth is nothing.

Unfortunately after ds I could barely shift 4oz

@worraliberty

This is 28lb of actual baby weight, not 28lb of fat.

I know that. But I don't believe that she lost 28 pounds within 10 days - AFTER giving birth....I don't give a shit if it's fat, water, or fucking milkshake, no way did she lose 28 pounds.

She is saying it was after she had the baby, so this is not including the weight of the baby, this is AFTER that. Read the article. Surely no-one is gullible enough to believe this crap?

I've read the article and I'm still struggling with why you seem unable to understand it?

Yes, AFTER she had the baby. The baby weighed around 6lbs, so that's that much lost immediately. Then as everyone else has pointed out, there's the placenta, fluid etc....

'After' she had the baby, begins the second the baby came out. So it's perfectly believable that 28lbs was lost within 10 days, when the woman is clearly young and slim looking anyway.

I put on 3 stone during pregnancy, all three of them. After my first, within a week, I'd lost all those 3 stones and was back in my tight fitting skinny jeans. The midwife was very surprised that I fitted into them so soon.

I managed to only lose two stone after DC2 and DC3, which I was pleased about, because I was underweight and hoped to keep some of the extra weight I'd gained.

I was a moose when I was pregnant - 4 months post partum I have lost 2 stone (mainly through not eating as I have a Velcro baby but still have 1.5 stone to go. I used pregnancy as an excuse to eat what I wanted and now I'm having to work to get rid of it - totally my fault. Should have remembered from the first time Blush

Now the boyfriend says that women who don't lose baby weight quickly are lazy www.facebook.com/thesun/posts/2439113919448366

Ewww. I can only feel sympathy for her having touched that slimeball let alone sleeping with him. Hopefully his reproduction won’t take after him

BitchQueen90 · 26/01/2018 19:52

She is very slim anyway and her 9 month bump looked like my 4 month one Grin some women snap back quickly, I was back to my pre baby weight less than 3 weeks after giving birth.

I feel sorry for the pressure on these women in the public eye.

pallisers · 26/01/2018 19:53

for all three of my pregnancies, I left the hospital at my pre-pregnancy weight. I didn't even gain 28 pounds - more like 20-24 but I had lost those 20 pounds within a few days without effort. Just the way my body worked. My sister was the same. I gained weight breastfeeding

BitchQueen90 · 26/01/2018 19:53

She is BU to credit her weight loss to Herbalife though. That's disgusting and a load of bollocks.

Turnocks34 · 26/01/2018 20:06

To be fair, with both of my boys, I went from about 8 and a half stone to 10 and a half stone in pregnancy, I was back to 8 and a half stone within two weeks, I didn't try to lose any weight, it just sort of happened. Emma McVey is very petite anyway isn't she? Her bump was very little from what I remember
