to think that everyone has ate a bogey

School mum at my dd school is adament that no one , unless they have been brought up with zero manners would pick their nose and eat it ? One poor 5year old was in the home time queue and he was having a right good rummage and eating his findings from his nose . Most mums found it funny but one said that the dc was disgusting and had not been brought up to have manners ? I said that most people at some point have ate their bogeys and it's no big deal . Aibu to think the dc was just being an innocent kid or should our kids be conscious and aware that picking their noses in public is deemed un acceptable? I'm sorry but il admit even as an adult Iv picked my nose and in privacy have ate it ? I'm sure most people do and so bloody what !

Meh it's only a bogey, mucus comes through your saliva ducts anyway and it's the same stuff so you can't really avoid it.
I reckon everyone has when they were little. Of all the habits humans have I really don't find it that disgusting tbh, he was only 5. Probably a good idea to teach him not to do it in public but I wouldnt say any 5 year old had no manners!

I have never eaten one. Tell my 2 1/2 year old it's disgusting and not to do it.

Nonononononono. I am a manky bastard, no doubt, in many ways, but I would never do that or understand why anybody would. DS2, on the other hand...bleurgh.

Pretty sure I accidentally ate my baby's bogey earlier when she snotted in my mouth when I tried to give her a kiss. My whole life didn't crumble in front of me, I didn't contract any tropical illnesses, it was just a bit of snot.

While I don't think it's particularly good manners to pick your nose in public, I would encourage to explore in private if they really must. I know my husband likes to encourage the pick and flick method but I think that's worse

We once stopped at some lights and I swear to God this well kept lady we knew from the next village picked her nose and ate it.
A chorus of errrrr came from the car, and I'm sure she heard the kids

Nope. Never. The thought repulses me. Each to their own but I'm finding it hard to imagine anyone physically eating their own snot or nails (wtf? How? Just swallow them sharp?) without the gag reflex kicking in!

i have also never eaten a bogey. major sensory issues and even thinking about it makes me shudder! watching people do it also makes me feel physical pain (kind of joking kind of not! haha)

I was about to go urrrrghhhh and condescendingly state that I have never eaten a bogey even as a child but saw the analogy of swallowing mucus when battling a cold which I certainly have done so I guess it's not a world apart. I couldn't bring myself to dig out my nostrils and snack on the findings though.

I used to eat bogeys all the time when I was a child. Loved a crispy one 😂. Have also ate my eye gunk 😂😂

DS aged 2 handed me one whilst I was driving and instructed me to eat it! I declined.

Have eaten the odd scab as a child. Knee grazes were always good pickings!

I remember having a childish laugh with a friend about seeing a girl we both knew picking and eating as she drove past us. Anyway, friend drunkenly mentioned it to girl later on and girl clarified that actually she had left a stray bit of coke up there that she didn't want to waste. Each to their own but I was FLOORED! I had no idea people were so open about Class a drug use (to people they only vaguely knew who were definitely NOT on the drug scene!). Is being a druggy therefore cooler than eating bogeys??!!
