Hubby and I have a few hours free in london tomorrow - we are over from Northern Ireland and have a few hours to kill!

we'll be in SE6 but have a rail pass and can travel!

Mooch round south bank then walk to Tower Bridge

Namechanged36 · 23/01/2018 20:33

Another vote for the Horniman.

CillitBangYouCompleteMe · 23/01/2018 20:34

I'd go to the V&A.

Battleax · 23/01/2018 20:34

Imperial War Museum or Southbank.

2rebecca · 23/01/2018 20:34

If weather OK I'd get Boris bikes and a map and pootle around the parks and quieter roads but then i enjoy cycling. Covent garden and Soho are an easy way to kill a couple of hours as well. I also love Liberty's in Regent St. You can also go to Sloan Square and then just head north and wander around that area towards harrods and Knightsbridge

I had 2 hours to kill the other day in London. Spent a lovely long time in Waterstones choosing a book then went to the pub for a couple of pints, sat in a cosy corner and read.

undertheradarplease · 23/01/2018 20:37

I’d head over to ‘Fish, Wings and Ting’ in Brixton. I love any excuse to stuff my face and this is my favourite place in which to do so when in Landan.

SeparatedByMotorways · 23/01/2018 20:38

Another vote for the Horniman. Some lovely wee pubs not far from their too if you were stopping for a drink. Dartmouth Arms in particular is very nice, or for Cafes Canvas and Cream.

eurochick · 23/01/2018 20:38

Go to visit HMS Belfast, ironically.

eurochick · 23/01/2018 20:38

Separated, I used to live near there and they were two of my regular haunts!

QueenOfTheHighCs · 23/01/2018 20:47

Head up to Greenwich from SE6 - an easy journey and lovely place to spend a couple of hours sightseeing, shopping and making the most of the cafes!

wewentoutonsunday · 23/01/2018 21:48

National Portrait Gallery for sure!

greenllicic · 23/01/2018 22:04

Also on the South bank is the Florence Nightingale museum. A lovely small place you could spend an hour in.

ShrinkWrap · 23/01/2018 22:08

Various rooms of the Horniman are closed at the mo so I wouldn’t go there, particularly as you want child free time! I vote Greenwich as good cafes, museums, cutty sark, the market, and river boats.

nancy75 · 23/01/2018 22:14

Agree with Greenwich, the Horniman museum is full of kids, really small & there’s nothing else there!
Greenwich you can get lunch, have a walk round shops & market, get on a boat up the Thames or have a walk down the Thames path

DuggeeHugs · 23/01/2018 22:14

I would go and visit the V&A or the science museum then get food from one of the eateries nearby

lauryloo · 23/01/2018 22:16

Sounds like Greenwich is the best option :)

Agree Greenwich or Southbank. Have a great time OP!

TheMadGardener · 23/01/2018 22:21

I'd go to the Scandinavian Kitchen just off Oxford Street and hang out eating loverly Scandi food. Then I'd mooch up Marylebone High Street looking in all the shops and end up at Baker Street.
I also love the National Portrait Gallery.

Weedsnseeds1 · 23/01/2018 22:23

If you only have a couple of hours, then Horniman, Greenwich, Eltham Palace or Dulwich Gallery

runningoutofjuice · 23/01/2018 22:23

A trip up to Sky Gardens - it's free but I don't know if you need to book. Or a mooch around the British Library.

Generationsandwich1 · 23/01/2018 22:27

Lumiere festival of light

Battleax · 23/01/2018 22:29

Might be a bit of a gallop rather than a mooch TMG, if there's a two hour slot to fill and she's starting in Catford kind of area? Smile

Alison100199 · 23/01/2018 22:52

SE6 is quite a way out so you won't have time to get to central London. I'd go to Greenwich for a coffee and wander.

Greenglassteacup · 23/01/2018 22:55

I’d go to Mildred's in Soho
