Spent many happy years barely aware of the man's existence. Then I go and see Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

And think...hmm.. he's quite...fit...

And then...hmm... funny, too....

And then... and able to laugh at himself...

Which has basically morphed into a total midlife crisis obsession. I am even contemplating watching the Baywatch movie, FFS, because he spends most of it running around topless.

I can't be the only one. Can I?

Thanks to whoever recommended Pain and Gain, which I watched last night and thoroughly enjoyed. Although I feel a bit bad about that, because it's a comedy based on a quite horrific true-life crime .

Rock, as expected was wonderfully funny and gorgeous in it. Managed to look adorably vacant throughout .

Terry crews in Brooklyn 99 is great!

In his wrestling days The Rock was a genuinely nice guy (in a industry full of arseholes), good with kids, and very funny too.

No-one has mentioned Walking Tall yet, my guilty pleasure film. I particularly enjoy him self righteously smashing up a casino (and it's security guards) with a 2 X 4 plank. Very entertaining.

He also plays a gay bodyguard in Be Cool (sequel to Get Shorty) which is a fairly shit film but the Rock is definitely worth sitting through it for. Admittedly he sports some questionable facial hair and a dodgy wig, but he's pretty funny in it
