We are looking at going for a holiday in th Canaries, and we have gone to Playa Blanca in the past, which was lovely, lively without being noisy, family friendly rather than nightclub -ish. I would love to go back! DH however doesn’t like going to the same place. So we are now searching for somewhere very like Playa Blanca, but is not Playa Blanca! It seems nuts to me, why try to re invent the wheel..... but if anyone has been to a pleasant family friendly resort anywhere else in the Canaries, I would love to hear about it....

I’ve never been to playa Blanca but costa adeje in Tenerife sounds similar.

BarbaraofSevillle · 20/01/2018 13:51

Las Galletas and Costa Silencio in Tenerife might be another choice or Caleta destination Fueste on Fuerteventura.

I'm interested to see which the Gran Canaria equivalent to PB is as I would be interested in going there too.

Does it have to be Canaries? Pollensa in Mallorca is fabulous, and exactly like what you want. I have been to Playa Blanca too for comparison, personally, although I really liked Playa Blanca too, I think Pollensa is much nicer.

Sa Coma in Majorca is lovely. I preferred it to Playa Blanca. Shorter flight as well!

rookiemere · 20/01/2018 14:27

I'd second Costa Adeje as a lovely family friendly destination- I've not been to playa blanca though.

Kbear · 20/01/2018 14:30

Caleta de Fuste - Fuerteventura - very family friendly, nice beach, dive centre, coastal path, lots of great restaurants, not nightclubby,

AnyFucker · 20/01/2018 14:31

I love PB !

Going for the 3rd time in a year next month ! In a Facebook group and everyfink Smile

I don't know anywhere else like it in the Canaries.

BunnyTeapot · 20/01/2018 14:53

Costa Adeje in Tenerife

Crispbutty · 20/01/2018 15:03

I love playa Blanca too and have stayed there a few times but I normally stay in Matagorda which is just as lovely. Close enough to Puerto del carmen if you want more bars and restaurants but has enough quiet family friendly places of its own. No traffic and a lovely beach.

canary1, can I ask where you stayed in Playa Blanca, and if you would recommend it? Looking for a week in April, me & 2 kids, not the very top end but happy to blow a modest budget to get it right. Thinking all inclusive but have never done that kind of holiday. Thanks!

SealSong · 24/01/2018 22:54

Not the Canaries, but plenty of places on Minorca would fit the bill, OP.

zebrano · 25/01/2018 00:01

Ooh, we are off to a Villa in Playa Blanca for Feb half term so I'm really glad to hear it's good! Had a stressful time recently and need a break. What's the fb page?

We've liked La Caleta in Tenerife in the past.

iggleypiggly · 25/01/2018 00:08

Jandia in Fuerteventura Smile

TattyCat · 25/01/2018 00:14

Love Playa Blanca - been several times and once alone (which was even fabberer Grin !!). Puerto del Carmen is ok if you're in the Old Town/Fishing Harbour (villas in Los Mojones are close although it's a slog back up the hill!).

I second the poster who said Pollensa in Majorca - we loved it there and would love to go back. Nerja in Spain also great.

Badgerloco · 25/01/2018 19:05

Melonares in Gran Canaria is lovely, can’t wsitbto go back.

AnyFucker · 25/01/2018 19:08

Search FB for Playa Blanca in Lanzarote

sweetheart · 25/01/2018 19:11

For the person asking about AI hotel in Playa Blanca we stayed at the hotel Hisperia last year and it was brilliant. The location is perfect and you are equal distance between playa Blanca and

sweetheart · 25/01/2018 19:14

For the person asking about an AI hotel in Olaya Blance we stayed at the Hesperia hotel last year and it was perfevt. The hotel was great and it was equal walking distance from Playa Blance and Rubicon marina along the sea front.

AnyFucker · 25/01/2018 19:43

Yip. We park at the Hesperia when we want to be central in the resort.

Ed75 · 25/01/2018 20:02

Thanks for the Hesperia tip! There's so many places to consider, and such varying opinions, it's a bit overhwleming.

AnyFucker · 25/01/2018 20:03

Princess Yaiza if your budget can stand it. Fabulous hotel

AlexanderHamilton · 25/01/2018 20:04

I'd recommend Costa Adeje in Tenerife. Been there 3 times & Lanzarote once.

TeenTimesTwo · 25/01/2018 20:09

AF 11 years ago, DH and I stayed at the Princess Yaiza watching the children's entertainment trying to guess which children were the same ages as our soon-to-be-met ADDs. Happy memories. Can't afford to stay there nowadays! Grin

MsJudgemental · 25/01/2018 20:10

Costa Adeje in Tenerife and Meloneras in Gran Canaria.

Tigerpaws57 · 25/01/2018 20:16
