Bedroom bins

My sister was complaining that her partner leaves used condoms on her dressing table instead of putting them in the bin in the bathroom. When I suggested she get a bin for her bedroom she said that it was weird and who has a bin in their bedroom and that it would basically be a "condom bin" I have a bin in my bedroom (not for the reason!) are bedroom bins weird? Do you have a bin in your bedroom?

Yeah it's mainly tissue, bread pads and packaging, tags from new clothes. We don't use condoms though

meredintofpandiculation · 14/01/2018 21:54

I have a bin in the bedroom. Have a bin in every room.

GetYourRocksOff · 14/01/2018 21:55

I do. For sweetie wrappers, cotton buds, cotton wool etc.

MickeyLuv · 14/01/2018 21:56

I've got a bedroom bin, tissues/makeup wipes/tags off clothes etc. Where would you put all that crap it you didn't have a bin in the bedroom?

DeputyBrennan · 14/01/2018 21:57

I don’t have one, and I would find it weird (for me) to have a bin in my bedroom. I don’t even really like having a bathroom bin as I’m the only one to ever empty the damn thing Hmm

ThisLittleKitty · 14/01/2018 21:57

Glad to know it's not just me. Although does remind me that when I was looking at a bin for my sons room my mum told me not to get one as it "encourages rubbish upstairs."

Yes, I have a bedroom pedal bin. It has lavender scented liners, and it lives in the bottom of the wardrobe.

I hope this thread doesn't go bonkers like the bajillion threads about bathroom bins have done.

It's a very controversial topic this bin stuff.

Kpo58 · 14/01/2018 21:57

I do. I also bought one for DH (when he was DP, before we lived together). They are so useful!

Sparklingbrook · 14/01/2018 21:58

By they way your sister should LTB because putting used condoms on a dressing table is disgusting.

Bluntness100 · 14/01/2018 21:59

Yes I have one, tissues, clothes tags etc,

However isn't the bigger issue he leaves used condoms on the dresser, that's friggen disgusting.

isseywithcats · 14/01/2018 22:00

i dont have a bin in my bedroom but then i dont wear make up, if my nose runs while im upstairs i go into the bathroom and use loo paper to blow it, if i buy new clothes i take the tags downstairs to the bin in the kitchen, dont eat sweets in bed so no wrappers, dont have a bin in the bathroom either,

ThisLittleKitty · 14/01/2018 22:01

Yeh she has a kid aswell. I told her it's disgusting that he does that as her child might come across it. She's had words with him apparently but he keeps doing it.

We don't have one, but we do have an ensuite with a bin in there. If we didn't have the ensuite then I would have one, apart from the kitchen, it's the most used bin in the house!

DeputyBrennan · 14/01/2018 22:02

@MickeyLuv without a bin in my bedroom I just walk to the bathroom and deposit any rubbish there.

Do you people with bathroom bins also have them in your living rooms? For whatever reason it would feel odd for me to have a bin anywhere other than a kitchen, bathroom and study/office Grin. I’m not saying my way is the correct one, by the way. I just too lazy to have that many bins to have to bother emptying.

roses2 · 14/01/2018 22:03

I have a bin in every room which all get used and need emptying at least once per week!

In the bedroom bin I out tissues mainly.

Sparklingbrook · 14/01/2018 22:03

Well I would not be having sex with a man that would leave used condoms on the dressing table. So more fool your sister for putting up with him.

I wonder what other delightful habits he has? Sounds a catch.

ToadOfSadness · 14/01/2018 22:04

We have a bin in every room, or a waste paper basket. Also have a small one for recycling upstairs otherwise it tends to be thrown in with the rubbish.

DramaAlpaca · 14/01/2018 22:04

No bedroom bin but there's a bin in the en-suite. The other bedrooms have bins to make sure the DC keep their rooms tidy-ish.

letsdolunch321 · 14/01/2018 22:04

Yup I have one for tissues, cotton buds, used shampoo bottles, biscuit wrappers.

Mxyzptlk · 14/01/2018 22:05

If her horrible partner isn't going to change his ways then at least a "condom bin" would improve the situation.

Tell her lots of people have bedroom bins and if she (or even he) is happy to empty the bathroom bin, with lots of condoms in, why would there be a problem with the bedroom one?

MorbidBibliomancy · 14/01/2018 22:06

We have a bedroom bin, and a matching one in the office (as well as the kitchen obvs). We don't have one in the bathroom, though I'm looking to rectify that. I've never thought of it as weird: it's more useful for me to have multiple options! Anything that has the potential to pong goes in the kitchen bin.

letsdolunch321 · 14/01/2018 22:06

The least he could do is wrap the used condoms in tissu. Yuk !!!

FluffyWuffy100 · 14/01/2018 22:06

Yeah of course.

For tissues mainly plus other misc rubbish items.

frasier · 14/01/2018 22:06

Bin in en-suite. But if I didn't have an en-suite I would have one in the bedroom and the bathroom.

AFistfulOfDolores · 14/01/2018 22:07

Yes. Bin here. Full of toilet roll innards (no bathroom bin - not needed); dental floss; empty cream/lotion/deodorant containers; and the odd sock :)
