I'm trying to buy some jeans off the Primark website and there is no "buy" button, nor a "customise" button to see if they have my size, nor anything else! Is there a way around this? Please help me, kind MNetters!

You can't buy online at Primark can you?

Picklepickle123 · 10/01/2018 16:02

I didn't think you could online shop with Primark?

helenoftroyville · 10/01/2018 16:02

I don't think you can buy online from primark, only I store.

RowenasDiadem · 10/01/2018 16:02

As far as I'm aware Primark don't sell online. The website is to showcase their stock..

SchoolMoney · 10/01/2018 16:02

They don't sell online. It's just to view.

Ironfloor · 10/01/2018 16:02

You can’t shop online at Primark.

RowenasDiadem · 10/01/2018 16:03

And it's a damned shame. I would go crazy shopping online. Our nearest Primark is too far to easily get to.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 10/01/2018 16:03

You can’t buy online at Primark, only at their physical stores.

Their website is just to show off what they might have in their stores.

Clitoria · 10/01/2018 16:03

They won’t offer online shopping, they say it keeps their prices down, not paying for warehouse and minimum wage staff for warehouse Hmm they’re losing out on shitloads of money for being so lazy.

ItsAllABitStrangeReally · 10/01/2018 16:10

You can't.

I actually think it's a good thing, It's refreshing to see a shop so busy and keeping retail staff in work !

The internet has pretty much killed off the high street, the more shop that sticks to making people physically go into them the better imo.

Llangollen · 10/01/2018 16:18

You can't buy on their website. Asos used to sell Primark stuff online, I haven't checked if they still do.

I would love to shop in physical stores, but frankly the stock is so much smaller than the offer on line that it's usually a waste of time. You can't even buy maternity clothes anywhere (apart from some Primark funnily enough) it's all online.

yawning801 · 10/01/2018 16:34

Thanks everyone, it's a bloody shame because they're really missing a trick there. I need some new jeans desperately and really can't get down to the nearest store right now.

Cancel the cheque Grin Grin

BikeRunSki · 10/01/2018 16:36

They’re not missing a trick. They are minimising their costs and therefore the prices they can sell at.

MTBMummy · 10/01/2018 16:39

They did a trial with ASOS a few years ago, where ASOS stocked some "key high end" Primark items I don't believe it was a successful trial

Altwoo · 10/01/2018 16:40

They’re so not missing a trick. Their model is high volume, low margins. Running an expensive e-commerce operation would erode those margins.

E-commerce is not the cash cow many assume. Primark are international. They’ve thought of this stuff.

HotelEuphoria · 10/01/2018 16:40

Nah, it would put their costs up massively, and their stock changes that frequently their website would always be out of date.

AdalindSchade · 10/01/2018 16:42

They aren't being lazy by not offering online. Clearly it wouldn't be effective as it would raise prices in general to keep profits up which would lose the USP of primark.

RavenLG · 10/01/2018 16:43

If they were to sell online you’d find thier prices considerably higher.

spangles1963 · 10/01/2018 16:45

I had this problem a few months ago. I asked my DD to take a look as she's a lot more clued up about all things to do with the internet and she said that it looks like they don't sell stuff online,it's just a site to advertise their goods.

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/01/2018 16:47

Sainsburys TU for jeans op.

twilightcafe · 10/01/2018 16:47

The quality control isn't good enough for Primark to sell online. Sizing is so variable even in similar items. You'd waste so much time sending clothed back and forth.

ivenoideawhatimdoing · 10/01/2018 16:50

You used to be able to buy some atmosphere on ASOS - maybe they still do that?

k2p2k2tog · 10/01/2018 16:50

they're really missing a trick there.

They're really not.

Online shopping means staff, warehousing, returns, deliveries, customer service, website building, hassle and COST. Primark are about low cost, fast fashion. They do not see online sales as part of their business model.
