Posting for traffic. I desperately need a new vacuum, currently using a Gtech multi to clean my whole house which is 1) killing the poor thing 2) killing me bending over 😂

I have about £200-250 to spend. What should I get? I just can’t decide!
Have carpet throughout the house apart from kitchen and bathroom. No pets at present but do have 2 DC so fair amount of debris created day to day

I'd definitely recommend the lift off style vacuums. It makes hoovering stairs, corners and skirting, behind furniture so easy. I've got the Bissell lift off which is fab and only around £60 from Amazon.

I've just ordered a shark from Very
Reduced from £319 to £199, used a 20% discount code, got cash back via Quidco and 9 months interest free Grin

Miele. They really work on everything.

Henry. Bulky but indestructable.

missymayhemsmum · 08/01/2018 22:19

Actually I think it depends on what you want. Are you a carefree hooverer of 93 kinds of random debris, small plastic items and the odd sock (in which case get a Henry) or a fanatical perfectionist carpet carer with moulting cat (in which case DM raves over her new shark)

I have the "Triggers Brush" Dyson model.

Its 17 years old and every time a part breaks DH buys the necessary replacement bit on eBay.

It's a bit Frankenstein's monster looking and after reading this thread I'm now contemplating replacing him with a Shark....

Ollivander which model is that ? Seems massively expensive even discounted.

Ollivander84 · 08/01/2018 23:51

Praise - it's this one

I don't get the hype about sharks! I got one and it's bloody annoying! I'm constantly having to remove hair as it just stops turning as soon as a piece of hair goes up it, and it forever gets clogged with dust..

I ended up buying another Henry (hetty) can't fault them on suction.
