AIBU or am I rightly annoyed.

Me and DP have been talking about getting engaged for a while. On Christmas Eve he tells me he has ordered a ring . Today postman knocks on with parcel he goes to collect it . I am expecting a delivery too but nothing is said so I get all excited because I know it was the ring that came.

Had a lovely day out today with DS. Just got home an hour ago and DP turns around and says so when do you want it ??
Now maybe I have been watching to many soppy films but I expected more than that. I really don't know if I should be pissed off or not .

I know kaniel but it does look pretty on the website . In real life it looks like something from Claire's Accessories

I’d have been disappointed with that. I hope my daughters boyfriends do it more formally and more romantically.

I got engaged in our kitchen! My new husband said 'shall we?' And I said what and he said get married and that was that! We had been a couple for 19 years and were living together.
I have to say though that his speech at our wedding was amazing!

My proposal was in a coffee shop while we were waiting for the ring to be resized! Doesn’t matter where or when or what prompts it. Those wee words ‘will you marry me’ carry such hope and promise and in the moment love and romance. Such a special moment whether it’s champagne and a string quartet or in bed having a snuggle.

Congratulations OP Grin

OP I know you've said you've decided on a ring, have you considered small independent jewellers in your area. They have some lovely rings (some second hand if you don't mind that) My friend found an absolute stunner and she told me it wasn't that expensive, would never have been able to afford something similar brand new. You could find a ring you love for a bargain- much easier to haggle with !
