To want nice pants...

youhavebeenlovedforever · 01/01/2018 17:44

Why can't I get pants (not control ones) to fit and cover my hangy down fat bits?!

Am I picking the wrong leg cut..

Talk to me about your favourite day to day pants..

I have big control pants but don't always want to wear them..

Help!!!

I've just discovered Sloggi double comfort tai knickers and they're lovely.

Maelstrop · 01/01/2018 17:48

Primark do 3 pairs on a diddy hanger, Lycra, pretty, hold you in without being control pants. They’re the only ones I’ll wear.

NC4now · 01/01/2018 17:49

I get either shorts or minis. Shorts don’t really look like shorts, but they fit well.
I suppose if you just want pure comfort you could go for a full brief but I can’t quite bring myself to that yet!

youhavebeenlovedforever · 01/01/2018 17:50

Yes want to avoid the full brief, but after having a baby and being a bit over weight most knickers I try show my fat 'apron' hanging out - it's gross. I've lost a few stone recently and want to feel confident in underwear.

Mid rise French underwear

youhavebeenlovedforever · 01/01/2018 17:57

Oooo Raving they sound interesting - where you get them from?

rosie39forever · 01/01/2018 18:02

M&S midi in between full brief and bikini, cover your dangly bits without being polo-necked🤣

Nubbled · 01/01/2018 18:04

This is mad. Someone who produced knickers for all our after baby tummys would make a million.

BluebellTheDonkey · 01/01/2018 18:05

I can't wear Sloggies, I am large of thigh and they cut in. I wear Matalan seam free high leg pants. Have tried all sorts of more expensive makes but these are the bees knees. Wash well and so comfy. This link may or may not work!

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 01/01/2018 18:06

I love the sloggi as well.
Nice pants so worth it Wink they are all I wear now.
High legs and at natural waist so look pretty on but don't cut anywhere that makes lumps and bumps.
I think classic knicker mistake is low-ish or too tight ones that mean a bulge is created where one actually isn't and shows under clothes

RavingRoo · 01/01/2018 18:07

I get mine from M&S and occasionally Amazon

youhavebeenlovedforever · 01/01/2018 18:08

Bluebell - they are high leg, do you not find your fat hangs out - although you may not have my problem lol

M&S Midi all the way. Come in plain cotton (black etc) or also ones with lace trim etc. Plenty of coverage without going full Bridget Jones.

GlitteryFluff · 01/01/2018 18:09

Ooh watching.
I have a mahoooosive apron from section with Ds. Having another section on Thursday so overhang will be even worse!
I had lace high waisted shorts from m&s which were pretty good but they don't do them anymore.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 01/01/2018 18:10

M&S Brazilian cut. Despite the name they're very flattering and I'm happy to flounce about in them, "gunt" an' all.

Whitecovers · 01/01/2018 18:12

I am in serious need of new underwear, still wear my primark maternity pants even though eldest is 8 Blush and they're tight now!

I was thinking of those Calvin Klein knickers, not the full shorts but more of a brief.

BluebellTheDonkey · 01/01/2018 18:12

No, they are stretchy and just nice and comfortable over the fat (I definitely have fat bits! CS scar and overhang, nice) I wear XL and am a size 12-14, so maybe that helps, I like a large pantGrinGrinGrin

youhavebeenlovedforever · 01/01/2018 18:14

Loving all the recommendations!
I never would have thought I'd be discussing a 'fat apron' Confused

HollyBollyBooBoo · 01/01/2018 18:14

Following with interest as I need to invest in some new knickers!

chocatoo · 01/01/2018 18:14

V interested to read responses. OP you are not alone! I'd prefer cotton ones if poss..are the sloggi ones cotton? I have found some high leg ones in Asda which I am quite pleased with. They have a wide band of lace around the top. Quite pretty.

SugarPlumFerry · 01/01/2018 18:15

Sainsburys 5 packs (yep, classy) if you can find nice patterns, in the "shorts" style are great for disguising my post surgery/baby/weight loss abdominal mix-up. However I have recently discovered that their brazilian pants also come up high enough but also show a bit of cheek Grin

Also Freya fancies shorts are the most comfortable big pants in the world. I am literally fanatical about them. Life is too short for uncomfortable knickers.

HelenRose1111 · 01/01/2018 18:19

I’ve always worn Sloggi Tai Chic but - outrage! They’ve discontinued them!! The replacement “Romance” ones are nylon-y and the elastic cuts in and I hate them
WHYYYY?
Anyone suggest an alternative? They’d have dealt with OP problem too
These ones (& if anyone knows where I can get size 18/20 black I’ll be your friend forever!

FingerlingUnderling · 01/01/2018 18:19

I can't remember the brand but in John Lewis I get black shorts. They sit just below waist and on the top of the thigh, don't give a vpl and don't cut the tummy in half. I need some more. DH rolls his eyes when I wear them but they are similar to his black calvins so I can't see the issue!

TovaGoldCoin · 01/01/2018 19:00

My Mama bought me some amazing mild control, but well cut and lace trimmed trouser knickers from. Sainsbury's

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 01/01/2018 19:07

choc sloggi ones cotton.
Am horrified to see helens post that they are discontinued!!
heads off to bulk buy remaining online supply
