Taxi would only be £60 or so, not really a fortune.

I would Uber to Victoria station and then Gatwick Express.
I did this for a similar journey and the Uber took no time at all that early and was really cheap.
Gatwick Express reasonable too.

You can get a direct train from st Pancras which is v close. They run through the night.

I’m guessing the op has got her flight by now.

Please check your local cab companies as I once paid £30 from Arnos grove to gatwick! It was a cab company at arnos grove station (maybe check it out)
