I've had enough of Christmas now and want to get my house back to normal, aibu to want this, son back at school Tuesday and hubby back at work same day, this weekend we have no plans so seems perfect for getting house back in order, hubby is totally disagreeing saying his doing it Tuesday evening, first day back at work so will probably be knackered, who's being aibu?

DS1 (7) who loves a good rule has been pressuring me to take them down since boxing day!

I've told him that I have a week and a half yet.. but will probably do them tomorrow.

and my kids aren't back to school until the 15th! (non-UK)

I normally take down on 5th/6th of January but then don't normally put them up until around the 17th of December (usually up for the last week before school is out for holidays). This year due to a crappy year I decided we would get them up early and try and cheer us up a bit so they went up on the 3rd and I was itching to take them down by the end of boxing day! They are still up though for the children, but they will likely come down new years eve once the toddler is in bed!

Mine came down on Wednesday night when I got in from work.

Down already...i wanted the tree out the door before the needles started to drop on my new carpet!

Don't stress let him. I am doing things like washing the floor, cleaning out the fridge and general tidying. I take it down on 12 th night and this year it is even more important because DH isn't home until the 4/5th Jan. he has missed all of it so it would be nice to have up and a lovely meal waiting when he gets home. We can do it together before he heaves it into the loft until next year. Will probably start when I come in and if I plan a delicious afternoon tea the time will go quickly.

I do all the other de cluttering, putting away presents properly, visiting tip with cardboard etc this weekend. But tree and decs stay up until twelfth night. January is long and bleak enough!

Mine came down earlier today. It does feel a bit sad but I get myself a really nice bunch of flowers to take the edge off the dull look without the tree.
