LUSH SLEEPY LOTION?
Not really an AIBU just unashamedly posting for traffic.

After 2.5 years of dd not sleeping and goalkeeping since 15 months just so I can get some sleep I'm at the end of my tether.
I've heard marvellous things about LUSH sleepy lotion and wondered if any MN had had any success with it. The reviews on lush are great but I'm Still slightly sceptical.
I have used lavender in the past (in my youth) and found it soothing.
Is it safe to use on a toddler?
Does it do what it says on the tin?
Is it worth £8 (don't usually buy expensive stuff)
Dp said (jokingly) can't we just give her whiskey like they used to Hmm not helpful at all Angry

Goalkeeping = co-sleeping

I work in a residential home. We tried it with a few of the residents who had problems sleeping. It didn’t make an ounce of difference. However, it makes me feel sleepy just having the pot on my desk!!!

kitkatsky · 19/12/2017 22:46

Works for my insomniac partner. Not tried on a child though

Misslemon01 · 19/12/2017 22:46

It makes me very sleepy! I fully intend to use it on my baby when she arrives.

Mugshotzforlunch · 19/12/2017 22:49

Thanks purplevicki. Star
I am going into town tomorrow (stupid I know this time of year) to have look and a smell.
I wonder why it didn't work with your residents.

Made no difference to my toddlers sleep. Smells lovely though!

Bambamber · 19/12/2017 22:50

I think it's another of those things that works for some but not for others. I've seen lots of parents say it worked miracles, and probably an equal number say it was an absolute waste of money. Worth a shot, and if it doesn't work just use it on yourself

Mugshotzforlunch · 19/12/2017 22:51

Lol at misslemon01 sounds like a plan. Is there anything in it that you would consider unsafe? I know it's all supposed to be natural...maybe I'm just been over cautiousHmm

OP posts:
Mugshotzforlunch · 19/12/2017 22:53

Bambamber youre probably right with the whole what works for some.
I have eczema so I'm cautious what I use but dds skin is perfect.

No advice I'm afraid OP, but your typo really gave me a good giggle Xmas Grin

Massive stealth boast about her footballing skills Xmas Wink

furryelephant · 19/12/2017 22:55

Hasn’t done anything to help my 1 year old except make the dog lick her feet as I’m guessing he likes the taste Grin

IrkThePurist · 19/12/2017 22:56

I cant see anything in the ingredients that are unsafe, but in case of a skin reaction, do a patch test first.
Its basically lavender and ylang ylang. You could also try chamomile. Just put a couple of drops into some lotion.

Onecreamteatoomany · 19/12/2017 22:56

I got this for my non sleeping 3 year old, I think it definitely helps him to drop off quicker but it doesn't make him sleep through the night. Smells lovely though and his skin is very soft from using it. Much cheaper than the 'this works' baby sleep lotion that didn't work!

Alfwood · 19/12/2017 22:59

Ask staff for a free sample for you to test first before you buy the full size Smile

Chaosofcalm · 19/12/2017 23:00

Made no difference to my then 17 month old.

welshmist · 19/12/2017 23:03

My teenage son was having trouble sleeping so tried it. He says it works for him.

Marmalady75 · 19/12/2017 23:26

My ds slept right through the night the first time I used it (unheard of in our house). I finally thought I’d found something to save my sanity, but alas, it has never worked as well since and now he squeals if he sees me with the tub.

Waddlelikeapenguin · 19/12/2017 23:28

Lavender makes my kids wide awake (me too!) so it would do not good here...

LemonysSnicket · 19/12/2017 23:32

It makes me sleepy but hurts my eczema

BerylPeryl · 19/12/2017 23:32

Really helps me sleep after night shifts. Good luck OP!

EB123 · 19/12/2017 23:36

I used on all three of my boys, made no difference! They sleep when ready, my middle didn't sleep properly and coslept until he was three.

The lotion is lovely though, I love the scent.

ajb17 · 19/12/2017 23:37

I use it on my 5 month old son, mainly because it smells delicious and most of his other bedtime products are lavender scented. I don't know if it helps him sleep better, but it is nice to pop on and do a bit of massage and get him relaxed before his bedtime routine.

Mugshotzforlunch · 20/12/2017 07:22

Ooh good idea alfwood with the free sample I will most definatly do that.Wink
So the consensus is try it and see but I won't hold high hopes.
Thank you wonderful ladies CakeWinefor you all.Grin

A colleague in work used it and said it made no difference at all and felt it was a waste of money.

BitOutOfPractice · 20/12/2017 07:30

I have to say that 99.9.% of the time you can tell what an autocorrect was supposed to be but goalkeeping has me stumped. Op I'm sorry but that really made me smile!

As for sleepy cream, doesn't work for me I'm afraid. I wonder if they'd give you a little sample?
