Jamie Oliver tasting his food makes me want to scream

on every bloody show, he makes a big deal of tasting whatever he's made and doing the bog sigh, the big eye roll, the shaking his fingers thing, he just makes me want to throw the telly at the wall

OP posts:

His hair in the 5 ingredients series lately was a lighter shade, it's now in an embarrassing style and dyed a daft colour, meanwhile he is wearing a silly jacket covered in zips and throwing salt on a pork belly from 2 feet up.

I'm certain that they must have a miserable marriage, when can he ever be home?! He releases like 8 books and 6 tv shows a year and has about 50 restaurants. Actually there was a documentary about him years ago where jools came to visit him on location and there was a lot of tension visible. Anyone remember that?

His whole 'whack that in there' mockney schtick gives me the fucking rage.

Ps that gif made me lol!

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 20/12/2017 14:47

This thread calls to mind this Jamie gif
Sausage making never fails to amuse, especially when paired with a sex face Grin

But I trump you JO talking dirty (any excuse for me to post this)...

BearSoFair · 20/12/2017 15:43

YANBU. I do really like some of his recipes but he is a bit cringey to watch at times!

BadFeminist · 20/12/2017 15:44

I loved old school Jamie. Adult Jamie is a cock.

LaurieMarlow · 20/12/2017 15:52

I find it easier to have a good relationship with Jamie by restricting my exposure to the books only. His recipes are damn good and totally reliable. As a person, he grates.

Whereas Nigella, much as I could read her and watch her forever (what a goddess) can sometimes be a bit hit or miss on the recipe front.

I quite like him, and so does Small. We would watch non-stop Jamie in our house if it weren't for Dave Gorman and the Top Gear Team.

PasstheStarmix · 20/12/2017 16:12

I love dave Gorman but that's another thread...

AnnetteCurtains · 20/12/2017 16:31

I miss my turkey twizzlers Angry

LineyRunner · 20/12/2017 18:46

Yes, he's gone from banning turkey twizzlers and petitions to Downing Street, to making money out of (as Husky calls it) Diabetes type 2 on a plate for the US market - and for us, too, presumably. Yum.

Sugar from a height, from a height.

Yup, so much this. Might have saved my marriage, to be v honest Wink

LineyRunner · 20/12/2017 19:03

(And I don't like the comments about his speech impediment either tbh)

KungFuPandaWorksOut16 · 20/12/2017 19:07

Don't like him.
I can never forgive him for his part in the demise of Turkey twizzlers.

horatioisabrick · 20/12/2017 19:11

What isn’t a Turkey twizzler? I’ll have to google that Blush

CaptainChristmas · 20/12/2017 19:12

I like his recipes and agree with some of the causes he champions, so I reckon (from the very little I know about him), that he’s pretty decent. But, personality-wise, he’s not my cup of tea. I actually blame whoever directs him. I swear they play on the fact that people used to (or still) find him attractive and they get him to play up to it. It does make me cringe a bit, but no more than Nigella does. Again, with her I blame the directors or whoever it is.

horatioisabrick · 20/12/2017 19:12

*is

goose1964 · 20/12/2017 19:17

He's obviously using Chris Packham as a style icon so much so he's beginning to look like him too

ComedyBoobs · 20/12/2017 19:20

Well, you lot have knackered by weird celeb crush....
Jamie & his bog sighs, spitting & frothing
Thanks for that, you've made him sound like Fungus the bloody Bogey Man.

ComedyBoobs · 20/12/2017 19:38

If you're reading this, Jamie, 'Jamie the Chefman's Slopup Book' has a certain ring to it.......you could dedicate your 'Marinated Trouser' recipe to me.

ExtraSpecial1 · 20/12/2017 23:53

And his bloody irritating cling-on mate, Jimmy. He makes Jamie look good!

Floellabumbags · 20/12/2017 23:55

Attractive? In what universe?

Ktay · 21/12/2017 06:36

@WhatALoadOfOldBollocks Grin

VanillaMincePie · 21/12/2017 09:24

Had Eaoman Holmes read this thread? I watched This Morning last night on catch up and EH said (to paraphrase ) why do chefs taste their food and go yum ooom lovely? You never see them taste it and go disgusting.

Zara86 · 21/12/2017 10:53

I can only assume they've tasted it before and made it numerous times so know the end result.

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 21/12/2017 11:29

Oh yes, him! I went off him when he got turkeys, put them in the enclosure and they all escaped because the stupid wanker hadn't researched their needs properly. All very "amusing" on camera, but showed him for the arse he is Hmm
