To think the point of having children is so you can have them make you cups of tea?

My 12 year old didn’t get that memo apparently Hmm who do I complain to about this faulty product?

12! That's not a child. That's staff!

nancy75 · 18/12/2017 20:36

I hate tea, if my 12 year old made it for me I would sling her out (and the tea with her)Grin

ShirleyPhallus · 18/12/2017 20:36

I am in my 30s and hate tea and it still grates that my parents made me make them tea all through my teens

Even now they’ll say “Shirley it’s your turn to make tea” and I say no, basically

Tea is fucking awful

spanieleyes · 18/12/2017 20:36

I had mine so they could change blown light bulbs! (I'm rather short, they're rather tall!)

thelastredwinegum · 18/12/2017 20:37

Everytime I stood up after a certain age my dad would ask if I was making a drink Grin

AnonymousToday2 · 18/12/2017 20:37

My 9 year old makes a sterling cup of coffee ☕️ YANBU

Soubriquet · 18/12/2017 20:37

Absoutely. Can't wait till my 4 year old(oldest) is old enough

Saying that though, dh makes me a cup of tea whenever I ask so maybe mine will get out of it

abbsisspartacus · 18/12/2017 20:37

My 17 year old tells me it's not a woman's place she makes her 8 year old brother make coffee instead I think I trained her well Grin

pemberleypearl · 18/12/2017 20:38

I don't drink tea which means I don't make great tea. Which means at 27 I still don't have to make my mum tea....

gabsdot · 18/12/2017 20:39

Kids have lots of uses, emptying the bins, putting out the bins, bringing in the bins.....

HappyAndRelaxed · 18/12/2017 20:39

YANBU. It's whoever is standing nearest the kettle makes the tea. Grin

lovelyjubilly · 18/12/2017 20:40

Surely it's safer to teach them how to pour a glass of wine. Wouldn't want them scalding themselves now would we?

Flopjustwantscoffee · 18/12/2017 20:40

My mums trick would be to say "tea?" "Oh, yes I'd love one" "great I'll have one too, pop the kettle on" Angry she's a great mum otherwise though. My son would gladly make me tea but he's only three so I can't let him (yet)

TDHManchester · 18/12/2017 20:40

I think they make useful footstools......

TheVanguardSix · 18/12/2017 20:40

You need some Irish DNA if you're going to actually have one of these creatures on hand to make a proper cuppa. And you'll need a box of Barry's gold blend.

Otherwise I'd just get an Echo or a guinea pig.

Raffles1981 · 18/12/2017 20:41

My son is 3 months old. How long before I can start training him in the art of tea making? I only had him so someone would look after me in my old age Grin

averylongtimeago · 18/12/2017 20:41

Mum used to like a cuppa about nine every evening. She used to sit on the sofa and sort of "clack" her lips - "put the kettle on dear"

Tried that with my two, no such luck!

Marylou2 · 18/12/2017 20:46

I have a similarly faulty 10 year old product. Maybe they're from the same batch? We could organise a recall.

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 18/12/2017 20:46

Vanguard we are Irish but I’m going to insist DS surrenders his passport after the filth he presented me with tonight!

Raffles you know those kiddie plastic tea cups? Get him started now! Grin

Tea is gross but I can’t wait for mine to make me coffee.

TalkinBoutWhat · 18/12/2017 20:50

You didn't start her early enough, you need to start them early enough that they think making you a cup of a tea is a privilege, not a chore!

LaPompadour · 18/12/2017 20:51

That's not why you have children, make your own cup!
Children are there to kill spiders. And find your phone.

QueenArnica · 18/12/2017 20:51

My 14 year old dd brings me a cuppa every morning in bed!

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 18/12/2017 20:52

You’re right talkin. I used to love making my dad coffee. My dad’s friend was sly, he would come round and start talking about coffee and how I never had better coffee than mine. So of course I jumped at the chance to make it Grin didn’t know I was being played!

My 2yo has recently started taking her daddy into the kitchen, pointing at the kettle and saying "time make mummy cuppa tea now". I think I'm sorted Grin
