I feel like I’m getting food shamed for eating!
I work 11 hour shifts with a an hour commute each, earlys and lates and nights,
I’m at work more than at home, so excuse me if I eat here!
It’s only one person , seems to hone in on me anytime I’ve got a banana or a sandwich, ooh eating again r we? Hungry already! leave me alone! Is 6 am I’ve been up since 4, I’m 5 months pregnant god for bid I have breakfast?

When does she eat? Everyone eats here, I’m talking a pot of porridge , home made lunch, not a 3 course meal!
She’s really starting to piss me off, she’s not saying it in a funny nice way, normally with a roll of the eyes!
Aibu to tell her to sod off!

I don't like her that much, I don't dislike her, just a bird at work, I already feel massive as I'm pregnant so don't need any negitive weight comments, she's a tiny little thing, I might just go out my way to eat everything in front of her, or wait till she comes in and say ooh good thought u might want to see what I'm having! ☺️,

I've bigger things to worry about and luckily will not let her get to me, and I'll be gone soon enough 💜🤗👶, thanks for all making me laugh,

P.s I've home made stew for lunch!

I used to have to put up with crap like that, because I'm vegan. "Yuck, how do you eat that?" It was soup. "That wouldn't fill anyone" because I had a salad, ect. I started walking up to her and eating with my mouth full and slap slurp slap, then asking here did she want to try some. It worked after the third time. 😈😁

DiegoMadonna · 14/12/2017 10:24

If we all lived by mumsnet advice we'd all be telling each other to fuck off all day long.

I think you can quite easily let her know that you are not interested in what she has to say without being confrontational/rude. Even non-verbally.

PositivelyPERF · 14/12/2017 10:24

Bty, I mean making slapping noises, not that I slapped her, though it was tempting. 😄

Aridane · 14/12/2017 10:57

Just ask her not to make comments next time she does. No need for PA comments, rudeness or HR type stuff

SisterMortificado · 14/12/2017 11:05

Could always raise an eyebrow and go with "oddly enough, yes."

At 17, I stopped eating at work entirely after someone began commenting on my lunch. I worked 10 hour days on an industrial estate where we got 15mins for smoko and half an hour for lunch. I lost nearly 10 kilos (started at 55kgs, so didn't have much to lose) because this woman made me so anxious about eating at all.

Failing that, stand up silently, empty your porridge over her head, and walk out calmly.

On two days a week I commute so leave at 0550 to get a train. By 9.30 I'm really hungry (as usually can't stomach more than three mouthfulls of cereal when drying my hair).
I have a peanut butter roll or a buttered hot cross bun or something with a cuppa before 10am and one chap often announces 'are you eating your lunch already!'.
Really annoys me.
I'm fed up of explaining that I've been up since 0445 to come into the office because the Head of Dept doesn't trust some of you to get the work done and needs me in twice a week.

MiltonTheCockroach · 14/12/2017 18:05

But you said she arrives early? I start work at 9am but I'm at work for 8.30am every day because I have breakfast and a coffee at my desk. I'm not doing work while I'm there for that half hour but I'm ready to start at 9am, when I'm paid from.

@amusedbush No, she arrives early and also leaves early so she does 8am-4pm rather than 9-5. Her working hours include the half hour breakfast.

Spangles1963 · 16/12/2017 19:44

It's the height of rudeness to comment on someone else's eating habits as I told my late DM several times. Just pleasantly ask her if she has nothing better to do.

Spangles1963 · 16/12/2017 19:45

Or better still say 'Yes.I'm eating AGAIN'. Do you have a problem with that?" followed by a head tilt.

Spangles1963 · 16/12/2017 19:47

Don't you just love the food police?

amusedbush · 16/12/2017 19:56

MiltonTheCockroach

Ah, I see. That would annoy me too.

ragged · 16/12/2017 20:07

Our entire office comments about what the others are eating. In a jokey tone. Nobody gets mad about it, we all join in the banter.

Cupoteap · 16/12/2017 20:11

Take a list of what you are planning to eat for the day and hand it to her with a Smile and say it's in case you miss her later
