To wonder if I am washing my hair too much?

I have long highlighted thick hair that falls past my shoulders.

I wash and condition my hair every other day. I have a sensitive scalp so cannot use dry shampoo. My hair is in reasonable condition as I use premium shampoos and i nourish it with using moroccon oil which it loves. However due to many years of highlighting and the odd straightening, there is a small amount of breakage, but it generally looks in good condition.

I've just been talking to my friend who was shocked at the washing my hair every other day and said I'm washing my hair too often. She has similar hair to me and says she can sometimes last 5 days between washes if it's not a gym day.

I'm now curious as to what other people are doing?

My hairdresser recently told me off for washing my hair daily. I was complaining about how tangled it gets and how dry it is. (Alsongreasy on the roots) I'm now washing it every other day and hopeful it's going to improve it. I do hate my non washing day tho. It feels so horrible not washing it although with a bit of dry shampoo it looks fine it's just that I'm constantly aware that it hasn't been washed and feel icky. Hopefully it will be worth it i the end tho.

I shower and wash my hair every day. It's a limp, static-y greasy mess if I don't.

I am jealous of those who can get away with washing every few days!

I wash daily. I feel grubby otherwise. At the weekend I went to the gym and had a shower after-I was going straight to have it cut and highlighter after and my hairdresser tells me off if I wash it first. I was desperate to and felt really self conscious between leaving the gym and getting to the hairdressers!

To me, going out without washing my hair is like going out without cleaning my teeth. I wouldn't feel right.

ps I even washed it on Sunday and didn't leave the house because of the snow.

I really don't understand how you can shower every day but only wash your hair every other day or less. Doesn't your hair get wet in the shower anyway?

Shower cap.
