background - normal* evening just getting into bed with boyfriend*

Me: tell me about when** you were younger

We both lived aboard (in separate countries) growing up* and tells fun stories of what he got up to - I'm easily* pleased Grin

Him: no I'm* too tired you tell me about when you were in Berlin (*I lived there for two years before uni)

Me: sorry* I'm afraid those stories are off limits tonight it's* your turn!

Him: whispers behind me slut Confused

He says that's what I was insinuating and has stormed off in a huff because I don't want him all over me straight after he said that.

Even if I had been 'insinuating' which I wasn't I don't think it's ever appropriate to call your GF a slut?? He knows my history, and to say it's whilst we were in bed. I'm not FUMING just a bit put out and confused.

Aibu or is he?

Thanks dentalplan

That's exactly what it feels like. I can't raise an issue without it becoming something so much more and without it being my fault!

For him being a prick!!!! This has brought about the realisation of a bigger problem!

I've read that dialogue several times, and it just seems like a lighthearted conversation with him saying the word 'slut' in jest. You had already implied that your Berlin 'stories' were risque and he responded in kind. But then me and my DH will call each other names in jest, because we have a similar sense of humour. So I can't really see an issue there, tbh.

The whining about your sex life on the other hand, makes him sound like a spoiled brat. Frankly I wouldn't want to be nagged / feel obliged to have sex to stop him moaning either. So I would be pissed off about that.

So maybe you're both a bit unreasonable. Or just not right for each other?

I may have splinters from sitting on this fence...

Nikephorus · 12/12/2017 20:52

To be honest you lost me with all the **s. I assumed that he was kidding about slut from the (ever so slightly confused) context and from the fact that he whispered it. If he was trying to insult you surely he'd have said it in normal volume? So I can't see the problem.

Frustrationqueen · 12/12/2017 21:03

I cant get past the fact you refused to delve into your time in berlin with him.

From what you have said id of taken it as a joke...but you heard the tone of how it was said, so thats where the truth behind it lies.

NotAMamaYet · 12/12/2017 21:04

My bold type did go slightly array!!

And thanks. I genuinely appreciate the opinions - I asked the question as I genuinely was wondering if it was him or me. Maybe the result is a bit of both

I don't think this is grounds to end my relationship, I just want some justification for how I was feeling

I wouldn’t tolerate having the word ‘slut’ used around me, let alone being called it.

Absolute misogyny.

Shoxfordian · 12/12/2017 21:19

He's a misogynist

Please don't have children with him even if you want to accept this shit yourself
