Soooo bored of Tesco and Morrison’s.

Feel like we’ve all gone off the normal dinners & stuff we have.

Doing an Asda food shop but what would people recommend? No dietary requirements.

Hmm not sure if my link worked properly. Just type Risotto Cubes into the search and it should bring them up!

MoanaofMotunui · 12/12/2017 09:36

Oh and their chocolate orange brownie bites which have the thickest layer or chocolate orange on the top... it gives the most satisfying 'snap' when you bite into them. Oh I'm getting hungry now!!

They do fresh diced chicken breast in Cajun spice which is fantastic. We love it fried off and then sour cream mixed in. Serve inside jacket potatoes with cheese on top. Grin

I have that Cajun chicken in the fridge but never had it before, that's tonight's tea sorted!

Wikipedia (must be right Grin tells me following about ASDA name

"The company was founded in 1965 when the supermarket owning Asquith family merged with the Associated Dairies company of Yorkshire."
So As from the family and da from dairies

I buy food from Asda, as do most of the people who shop there, I imagine. Along with the odd item of clothing from George.

cliffdiver · 12/12/2017 10:52

As PP said, definitely not the meat.

Competitively priced branded items would be all I could suggest.

MrsFoxPlus4 · 12/12/2017 11:02

Mac & cheese burgers & risotto cubes are on offer 😍

zzsplinterzz · 12/12/2017 11:52

in this instance Wiki isnt correct Grin I had to phone ASDA Ho for exactly the same reason (quiz entry) and was told it stood for ASsocciated DAiries - no mention of the Asquith family whatsoever.

I go in there for Beefy Sticks. They’re beef flavoured chipsticks, the thin ones. Other shops only sell ready salted but Asda do Beefy ones! Apart from that I like their Tiger bread. That’s about it.

notfromstepford · 12/12/2017 13:26

Their mature cheddar is really nice - far better than sainsbury's, good flavour and I prefer it the branded cheese - like cathedral city etc.

Also like all their in-store bakery breads and rolls - far better than Tesco.
Don't like their egg noodles though - too stodgy.

PoemsForMySon · 12/12/2017 15:41

Their cheddar in the purple packet is delicious.
The ranch coleslaw from the salad section is also very tasty.
