Soooo bored of Tesco and Morrison’s.

Feel like we’ve all gone off the normal dinners & stuff we have.

Doing an Asda food shop but what would people recommend? No dietary requirements.

Asda smoked cheese is yummy. They also do salt and pepper belly pork joint which is amazing

CappuccinoCake · 11/12/2017 23:30

Er surely whatever you'd have brought in Tescos/sainsburys/wherever?!

We go to whichever supermarket we are near but would still just get stuff on the list.

Heinz tomato soup is heinz tomato soup wherever you get it from (add the veg, meat ,eggs , dairy, fruit, snacks , milk. whatever you'd normally get.)

Bit confused- surely you just get what's on your list for meals that week!?

Not really! I shop at all the supermarkets but they're all pretty much the same stuff! (Apart from Waitrose or lidl/aldi). Asda is just generic supermarket same as Tesco or Sainsbury's.

Well, some things are the same, but some aren't, for example the bread and their own range stuff.

It'll obviously be the same if you buy branded stuff for example.

CheshireChat · 11/12/2017 23:55

Cross post.

MrsFoxPlus4 · 12/12/2017 00:28

RecalibratedMilkshake thanks that’s exactly what I meant. Obviously the bog standard things we need are on the list.

We are just a bit bored of the normal dinners we make and wanted some stuff in we aren’t fed up of! Recommendations are good considering it’s an online shop we are doing.

I really like their bakery products, their soft rolls and pancakes are the best of all the supermarkets IMO.

LizzyMac40 · 12/12/2017 00:45

We bought orange cream profiteroles from
Asda yesterday....amazing! 😀😀

uokhunni · 12/12/2017 00:53

Their baking Camembert! Yum!

Alwaysinmyheart · 12/12/2017 00:59

Their fresh baked ciabatta rolls are v good.

ParcelPop · 12/12/2017 01:03

Their freshly baked cheese and onion rolls are to die for. They're delicious.

MrsFoxPlus4 · 12/12/2017 01:05

I have such a unhealthy relationship with Camembert and crusty bread Grin

Two rib eye Steaks for £7

LordSugarWillSeeYouNow · 12/12/2017 01:20

The wafer thin cheddar slices , packs of pain au chocolate, pre chopped red or white onions 22p! Little bags of chopped fruit, tiger rolls, cheese and chilli bites ( frozen festive section ) its great :)

GetOutOfMYGarden · 12/12/2017 01:21

At the minute they have extra special camembert bites... oh god, amazing!

roastchestnuts · 12/12/2017 01:27

Asda extra special pizzas are divine!!

selassi · 12/12/2017 01:30

a lot of asda own brand is very good

Milliways · 12/12/2017 07:31

They have 1 litre of Baileys for £10 and 6 bottles of Hardys Stamp wine for £25! I do my shopping there when the wine rack needs a top up :)

IggyAce · 12/12/2017 07:40

Pizza counter, we get the 3 for £10 on the meat usually; cook in the bag chicken, large mince and pork chops.
Bleach very good value and the best own brand one imo.
Bread is lovely and also quite like their doughnuts.

AuntLydia · 12/12/2017 07:43

They have a good range of veggie stuff - their veggie katsu curry burgers are lush!

HereBeFuckery · 12/12/2017 08:22

Lean bacon lardons. £1 a pack, a pack does two meals for the three of us (pasta with lots of veg and lardons), and the packs are a perfect size for the freezer.

BeverlyGoldberg · 12/12/2017 09:28

Their fish counter is better than all other supermarkets. You can buy prepared fresh fish such as salmon with mozzarella. It’s basically a ready meal but fresh and relatively healthy!

MoanaofMotunui · 12/12/2017 09:33

Risotto Cubes 🤤🤤 you will not regret it!
