DH and I and our 2 DDs have nothing planned and are seeing the family that can be arsed on Christmas Day. So what do you do?

Boxing Day is my present to me.
After hosting parents, kids, their partners and friends the day before.
I lounge around in new pjs, eat left overs, drink Baileys, cuddle cats, watch crap tv and eat Lindt. All day. Bliss.

Babyroobs · 07/12/2017 22:22

I'm working from 7.30 am - 3pm so will come home have a snooze then have dinner and drink lots. Maybe do a Christmas jigsaw or play a board game with the kids .

stargirl1701 · 07/12/2017 22:23

Leftovers, Christmas DVDs, pyjamas.

bingebiscuiteater · 07/12/2017 22:23

Extend the relaxation session from Christmas to Boxing day. Just play and spend time home.

ghostyslovesheets · 07/12/2017 22:25

sleeping late
a run
PJ's
Left overs
crap TV
Fizz

kids are at their dads!

LemonysSnicket · 07/12/2017 22:26

Going to my dads. Parental divorce means 2 christmases even in my 20s. Add in DPs parents and it would be one family every 3 years otherwise.

uncoolnn · 07/12/2017 22:28

Working!

AnonEvent · 07/12/2017 22:30

The same as we do every year: a bunch of friends come over (about seven or eight people), they all bring their leftovers, we dish out ours (plus canapés, chips and dips, salads etc.) and share them (sometimes we have a gammon competition if there are more than two or three brought round).

Then play we party games.

Kahlua4me · 07/12/2017 22:30

Long family walk with dog along the beach, maybe stopping at the pub. Then back home for left overs and tv with a game or two....

HemanOrSheRa · 07/12/2017 22:33

Nothing except eat leftovers and watch TV. It's the first Boxing Day that I either don't have to work or haven't been working until the early hours for a long time. I am going to enjoy it Grin.

MinesaPinot · 07/12/2017 22:34

Mum staying with my brother and family in Essex for Christmas Eve/Christmas Day so we've got Christmas Day just the two of us, then drive down there on Boxing Day and spend the day, then take Mum home. Me and DH are both off between Xmas and New Year, so we're planning on having a couple of days lazing, and one day in London at the V&A and the sales.

WyfOfBathe · 07/12/2017 22:34

Getting a ferry to France to stay with my DM!

Normally we have a relaxing boxing day, but the only dates which worked for everyone were from boxing day.

whyismykid · 07/12/2017 22:35

Boxing Day is Christmas Day two with my Mum after Christmas Day with Dh's lot, then the 27th with my Dad. It's exhausting, and I'd love to stay at home this year as we have moved into a cosy new house and I feel really settled for the first time ever, but we live 300 miles away from all our family so have to do it all in one go really!

TeenagersandFurbabies · 07/12/2017 22:35

I'm working 7-10am. Then home for a lazy day with my DH and Dds and a dinner of leftover turkey with chips & veg from the freezer.

AdoraBell · 07/12/2017 22:35

Apparently we’re driving from the South West to London, and back, to see ILs. This is DH’s idea as we are having Christmas at home. I feel a migraine coming on Xmas Hmm

50ShadesOfEarlGrey · 07/12/2017 22:36

Boxing Day is my favourite day, probably of the whole year, because we do next to nothing! More presents, Left overs with bubble and squeak, pickles, cheeseboard, more chocolate, Christmas pudding because we can never manage it on Christmas Day. Board games, family film, lots of drinking, no pressure. A walk on the forest may be, if we can be bothered to get out of pjs. What’s not to like?

MiddlingMum · 07/12/2017 22:38

Long walk, maybe some gardening. Start to wonder how soon we can take the tree down. A run in the evening.

Not a big fan of prolonged Christmasses Grin

MrsBonato · 07/12/2017 22:41

Currently mil is demanding that every waking moment of Xmas is spent with her...again so another day with her. Probably opening gifts as the bil and sil aren't going to be there Xmas day (lucky barstewards) and we have to open them all together. Joy...

Boxing Day BBQ

tapdancingmum · 07/12/2017 22:44

It's my 49th Birthday (how can that be, I'm still 20 in my head) and we are off to the London Aquarium (courtesy of Tesco vouchers) and a mooch around London.

BusyBeez99 · 07/12/2017 22:47

Go to see the football

weegiemum · 07/12/2017 22:47

Driving for 2 hours and a 2.5 hour ferry trip to spend the next few days with dh's self absorbed family. Yay.

AnnaT45 · 07/12/2017 22:48

We will have brunch with my family as staying over the have a chilled afternoon and get organised for DD birthday on 27th!

GinAndSonic · 07/12/2017 22:50

Im on a 4hour shift at work. Yay, retail! Yay, boxing day sales! As long as people don't drop their coffees and greggs pasties all over the floor like they did last year I'll be happy. Ish.

deepestdarkestperu · 07/12/2017 22:51

Working 10-5, then having a second Christmas dinner with my parents :)

Dreading the first bit, can't wait for the second part!
