To not be enjoying strictly as much this year?

Judging seems very biased, they seem to pick a 'fall' guy or girl each week who they underscore so that Alexandra stays in. Shirley's dreadful nasally grating voice patronising everyone, Bruno flapping about and saying nothing, Tess and Claudia's dreadful 'comedy' skits, the dumbed down "in training" VTs that show bugger all actual training. Feel like I might not bother with it next year!

I’ll start watching when Shirley has gone. I rarely know who any of the celebs are but if you enjoy the first week or two you get to know them and their foibles. The judging should be fair but take into account these are not professional ballroom dancers. Shirley completely spoils the fun of it.

Amanduh · 03/12/2017 11:20

Don't know how Mollie is still there. Disappointed by who went last night 😠

CoraPirbright · 03/12/2017 11:21

I was rather enjoying it until Aston got the heave-ho. Can you imagine what his Argentine tango would have been like?! Don’t like Shirley - I appreciate that she really knows her stuff but she can be very rude. Cant abide Alexandra - she is a brilliant dancer and she knows it so just knock off the whole insincere, fake “who, me? I was good? OH thank you SO much” schtick. A ditch the effing teddy bear - absolutely nauseating, please god dont let her win. Loved Susan - such joy on her face every time she took to the floor.

IHaveBrilloHair · 03/12/2017 11:23

And his hair when he's in training and it's all mussed up

GrouchyKiwi · 03/12/2017 11:28

It's flat for me this year too. I don't have a favourite and don't care who goes each week. The music choices have been awful for the most part and I'm tired of the props and theming. I'd like them to go back to simple dances and only two different styles each week.

maddiemookins16mum · 03/12/2017 11:41

It's ok, I kinda miss Len, Shirley is annoying me now plus Bruno gets more infantile every year.
Really liking Joe, hope he wins but like Debbie too.

Sparklingbrook · 03/12/2017 11:47

The best way to watch is having recorded it. Zip to the start of the dance, watch judges' comments, then zip to the scores, repeat etc.

Skip all the Tess/Claudia cobblers, the silly clips before the dance and any other irrelevant stuff.

Saves time.

AmysTiara · 03/12/2017 11:52

Yes i agree. The stupid VTs get on my nerves and i miss Pasha.

I like Shirley and Alexandra but i couldn't stand Susan.

I think the judges want Debbie to win but I think it will be Joe. I'll be happy with that as there's no-one i love or hate this year

Twitchingdog · 03/12/2017 12:23

I loathe Shirley
Bruno I'd getting fed up I think starting to phone in it in.
Craig can't he be himself so is reigning himself him . He was only been ing nice voting for Molly and he is regenting it . Len always too the edge of him if he went too far Shirley does not so he has shut up .
We need dancers like Alexander and Debbie to make it fun other wise we a load of Ruth's. No one was funny this year. Susan was just bad ! Her and Kevin were sad and boring to watch.

Auburn2001 · 03/12/2017 13:05

I love watching Alexandra, Debbie, Joe, and Davood dance. Knowing absolutely nothing about ballroom dancing I like it when the judges say specifically what they liked about the dance. I sometimes learn something. But maybe that’s not the point of watching Strictly.
Although I very much enjoyed Susan’s enthusiasm, and liked watching her, and others, improve, if the format was changed to include all non dancers I wouldn’t watch it. Suspect I am in the minority though.

grimeofthecentury · 03/12/2017 17:46

Mollie is lovely, at least she isn't fake as fuck. Can't believe people actually like Alexandra she's horrible

Arthur2shedsJackson · 03/12/2017 17:56

Joe for me, any day of the week.
And talking of that, why do they persist with the ridiculous myth that it’s filmed on 2 separate nights? Can somebody please tell me?

Petalflowers · 03/12/2017 17:59

I don’t watch it every week. However, I did love Alexandra’s American tango a few weeks back and felt it was far better than Davood charlton, which was good, but not brilliant, but was a bit heavy in parts, and yet they got the same score.

I think Ian Waite should be a judge. He’d be brilliant.

Petalflowers · 03/12/2017 17:59

(And I saw him recently in a show, he has a great body...)

MiniCooperLover · 03/12/2017 18:02

The dance off feels fixed to me every week, though that argument doesn’t hold much weight when you think of the week Aston went out. But something doesn’t feel quite right.

grimeofthecentury · 03/12/2017 18:02

I bloody love Ian Waite!! And why can't Karen Hardy be a judge??!

madeyemoodysmum · 03/12/2017 18:02

Yes. I've watched every year for years but this year I've not bothered after a few weeks. I've just got no one to root for.

therealreason · 03/12/2017 18:05

YANBU, I've found the scoring bizarre this year and the overall standard of dancing is definitely not as good as in previous years. Also hate the "comedy" sketches.

ilovesooty · 03/12/2017 18:12

Not impressed with the semi spoiler upthread.

minxthemanx · 03/12/2017 18:14

Have watched it avidly every year. Bored rigid this year I'm afraid and can't be bothered to watch. Same with I'm a celeb. Just don't find the people that interesting.

DearyDearyDeary · 03/12/2017 18:16

Not been a classic series. My favourite quote was in the Guardian - "who'd have thought Royal-Ballet-trained Debbie McGee would be a good dancer". I have enjoyed Craig this time round - seems to have mellowed a little bit, and easily the best of the judges.
I think a final of Joe, Alexandra & Debbie, with Joe taking the glitterball...

fussychica · 03/12/2017 18:21

This programme always had the ability to make me smile, now I seem to spend a lot of time pressing the mute button, especially on Bruno! Surely he's past his sell by date. Really can't get into it this year and think the standard is generally poor. Can't stand Alexandra, and that Charleston was awful and over marked. Perhaps the whole thing has past it's sell by date for meSad. I never watch the results programme anymore, I just go to the online SpoilersShock

CharlieSierra · 03/12/2017 18:33

I like Shirley, I think she's a good judge. I hate all the stupid fillers, just show a bit of training; I think some of the costumes have been dire this year; I dislike theme weeks really as I think it distracts from the dancing when they are in fancy dress, and I've particularly disliked having extra dancers on at the same time as the competitors.
Shit that someone did a semi spoiler upthread, bad form.

Oakmaiden · 03/12/2017 18:34

I have a very innappropriate crush on AJ too. He is just soooo pretty, and he seems charming when he interacts with Mollie.

I tell myself I would like him as a son-in-law. Because drooling over him on my own behalf would be very wrong.

IHaveBrilloHair · 03/12/2017 18:44

GrinIt seems there's a few of us!
I've a feeling this might be his last night though.
