For people who lean with their whole body braced against handrails/poles on the tube, particularly on the Central line where there aren't enough hand rails at the best of times.

I'm 5 foot nothing so can hardly reach the overhead rail and 'bracers' tut and mutter when I try to squeeze my hand between their back and the pole. It's so bloody inconsiderate.

There is space above or below the person’s back for you to hold on to. If you are intent on holding on at your shoulder height then yes, you’ll have a problem. If you do what everyone else does, and hold on where there is a space, then you will have no problems.

I've got acute carpel tunnel in my hands and it really hurts me to stretch my arms. Do I trump a 'bracer' with a bad back? I'm also not a giant nor a little person; just someone of regular height wanting to hold onto a pole, put there for the purpose of being held on to - not leaned against!

I was leaning next to the door because I knew no-one was going to get on at that side and because it wouldn't be in the way. I don't know if the guy was being creepy or just lacked awareness of personal space.
