to not understand the Pandora obsession?

Just that really!

A neighbour of ours is obsessed with it, every Christmas/birthday/mother's day she is constantly tagging her husband on fb with endless Pandora ads saying 'hint hint hubby!'. She has loads of it. And so does one of my DSD's.

Why spend so much money on stuff that so many other people are also wearing?

Each to their own but I don't get it. And surely it will be worth nothing in a few years time?

I'm not overly bothered about jewellery, I wear my engagement ring (which was made specifically for me) and a pair of pretty plain white gold earrings every day .

Would just love to know why Pandora is so popular? And why some people want the entire collection?

Not my thing at all but I guess the low price point appeals to the masses and they're onto a winner with people wanting to collect charms.

@AlonsosLeftPinky

I don't either.

It's shit quality jewellery which every other woman has a carbon copy of. And it's a gift for people to buy when they can't be arsed making an effort.

This .
RozHuntleysStump · 18/12/2021 23:11

I wouldn’t be seen dead wearing it.

I don't understand jewellery full stop. I know there is a long history and many civilisations have used it. However, I find wearing jewellery uncomfortable. When I think about it, it looks a bit silly. And the gold and precious stones trades can be very corrupt. I occasionally wear a necklace to complement an outfit, but mostly because I have some given as gifts and I feel obliged. I couldn't care less where they are from or what they are worth.

@Megaman1891

Nothing screams council estate more than young chardonnay caked in makeup false eyelashes iPhone poking out of her back pocket and covered in cheap pandora junk. And let's have it right it is all cheap junk. Just because someone is stupid enough to pay £200 for a scrap of silver and glass worth £7.27p doesn't mean it's worth £200
Wow, did you really need to resurrect a 4-year-old post to be so offensive?

I prefer Trollbeads.

Ha! I was going to say the same thing!

I do kind of understand it but it’s just not for me, I’ve seen some huge queues of people for pandora even when it’s been blinking freezing.

Wow just seen this thread is 4 years old!

Do you feel better for posting that? I think I'd prefer to spend time with Chardonnay (capital letters for names) than a jumped up, rude person like you.

Frazzled50yrold · 19/12/2021 09:02

You should have a look at trollbeads instead. If you choose them carefully they really do appreciate in value.

@Lethaldrizzle

I'm sure you have tastes that other people don't get, be they tv shows, food, shoes, handbags etc. Just let people be. You sound a bit judgemental. And no I don't have a Pandora, but who cares? It's just a bracelet!
This plus op (and others who deem it too common to be unique), not one of you has a unique taste in anything. You are in a world with 7 billion other people, even if your 'unique' taste is rare to you, some other person out there likes the same thing. You are not unique in what you like.

You are however unique in the combination of things that you like. The chances are slim that there are many people wearing the same bracelet with the same combination of charms. That's what makes it unique.
