So my sister and I were talking today about how much time we actually spend on the floor playing with the dc.
When you're at home what % of time do you spend actually down on the floor playing a game or activity?
Without doing a chore or on phone or anything else....

I've never enjoyed playing- always seen it as a chore, especially imaginary type play. I do like doing stuff like art, baking, chatting, cooking, reading etc with them. Over the years different amounts.

DC1 - when he was a toddler- prob a few hours a day, but half heartedly, often checking my phone etc. Then tapered off as he got into lego etc. Now very little- in fact thinking about it I feel about how little. I do read iwth him, chat to him loads, take him places, make up stories with him, do craft projects etc but very little actual playing even though I know he would like me to do more.

DC2- age 4- probably around 20 mins to half an hour a day on average (sometimes more, sometimes less) doing stuff like puzzles/ board games etc and a bit of lego.

Reading that back makes me feel really bad that it's not enough at all.

Schwan don't worry, he's very young to expect small world play or anything! Exploring how things work/ what noises they make / how they move is still very much normal at 12 months!
