I don't normally follow this kind of thing, but I've been on the daily mail a bit recently and so I've seen the cheating malarkey and that she's recently released a statement about it all.

I don't necessarily agree with her staying with him but I thought what she said was honest and heartfelt. (I am v emotional at the moment, so I blame that!!)

She seems intelligent and classy and I don't think he deserves her.
Am I losing my marbles?

Some women genuinely don't mind if their OH plays away. It's the fact he's brought it into the public eye she'll be pissed off about. No one marries a footballer and expects them to be a saint. You know what you're signing up for. Her bread has been buttered on the right side since she was a 15yr old school girl. She's not bloody soft.

I think she does mind. That’s pretty obvious from her reaction. And as for her bread being buttered and all that implies he’s hardly done badly out of their marriage has he?

Mince314 · 26/11/2017 22:51

I think he was very lucky to find a good looking family orientated woman who seems to genuinely love him for him. He is NEVER going to do 'better' than Colleen. If they split up other wannabeez will grit their teeth and shag him for the perceived status Confused but she loves him.

Raisedbyguineapigs · 27/11/2017 10:06

The sad thing is that it will be an uphill struggle teaching her boys to respect women when their 'great' dad has openly treated their mother like a doormat and done whatever the hell he liked with absolutlly no consequences to him. He's just got a family at home and carte blanche to go shag whoever he wants whenever he wants. What's she going to say to them about the value of women? If the next one is a girl, then that's who I feel sorry for. Her role models will be a mother who puts up with any level of humiliation thrown at her and a father who gets drunk and blatantly shags anyone who flatters their eyelids and his wallet at him in a nightclub.

I was impressed with the statement and agree she sounded dignified and intelligent. I think she takes her marriage vows seriously and that is why she has given him another chance.

I think it's ludicrous to suggest she's with him for the money.

CheesyFootballs · 27/11/2017 10:24

I don't find any 'Twitter statement; about a personal relationship 'classy', I'm afraid.

However, she hasn't done anything wrong. I'll save my vitriol for her husband, who seems like a nasty shit.

Really? I can't imagine anyone not minding if their OH sleeps with other women. It's revolting in so many ways.

It's a shame some many people in the public eye are so forgiving of awful behaviors such as cheating. Drink driving is bad enough.

silkpyjamasallday · 27/11/2017 11:03

Classy would be to maintain a dignified silence rather than put out a public statement about the state of her marriage.
^ this. Courting the medias attention and stirring up fans over their private lives is the furthest thing from 'classy'. It's the children I feel sorry for, it won't be long before other children at their school will know about Wayne's indiscretions and mock them for having a 'granny shagger' for a father, they won't know him for being a great footballer as his career is all but over.
