Was told that buying regina blitz kitchen roll is pretentious and a middle class excess? Confused

Anyone agree?

"I've never heard of it. What a ridiculous name."

That made me lol for some reason possibly as it's plain and simply true. Grin totally ridiculous name my bff's other bff was called regina and i thought it was simply the best name ever when we were all 8 years old that was before Regina stole a toy from Susan and was no longer my bff's second bff. Grin yes i think i have grown up since--

If we are now discussing bog-roll lavatory tissue, then this is the stuff you need for when the workmen dare to use your loo.

PortiaCastis · 24/11/2017 23:05

Ha Red Can I steal that for the next tradesman laying a stinky log thread Grin

FadedRed · 24/11/2017 23:16

Portia be my guest (if I don't beat you to it).

Carouselfish · 24/11/2017 23:18

I bought it once because I know an absolutely lemony-faced bitch called Regina (who's ironically a Lady) so it mildly amused me to wipe up things with it.

PortiaCastis · 24/11/2017 23:20

Grin. Thank you

FadedRed · 24/11/2017 23:20

Squoosh English Monarch's used to have a Groom of the Stool to wipe their nethers and remove the Royal excreta. So you are correct in thinking the very posh didn't clean their own arses.

SD1978 · 24/11/2017 23:21

@ApplesTheHare- no that’s upper class..... the middle class crowd when they buy something expensive and put it out for all to see...... the upper class pretend or genuinely don’t look at the price 😂

PortiaCastis · 24/11/2017 23:23

Oh Jesus don't say that Faded Red or someone will suggest it as a job seewhatididthere opportunity on a benefits bashing thread !!

UterusUterusGhali · 24/11/2017 23:24

Who doesn't buy kitchen roll?! How on earth do you mop up excess moisture when draining your chips asparagus?

BarbaraofSevillle · 24/11/2017 23:31

The only place I buy things without looking at the price is Aldi or Lidl.

I get value kitchen roll but stock up on Kleenex Velvet bog roll when on offer.

Ocado deliver me Waitrose Ecological recycled stuff when necessary - which I think answers the class question to 3 decimal places

Talking of trying to do the right thing eco wise in Waitrose, my latest thing is to try harder with using my reusable water bottles and coffee cups instead of plastic bottles and cups that don't get recycled, so like a good girl, I took my reusable insulated coffee cup to Waitrose to get my free coffee and the fucking thing wouldn't fit under the bastard machine Hmm Shock Sad.

I managed to wedge it under and let the coffee and milk run down the side of the cup (most of it went in the cup), but I stood there thinking of how many Mumsnet threads I could get out of that morning as my heritage is as working class as they come but I have very much bridged the class divide as illustrated by my visit to that retail park which includes a Waitrose and and Aldi and Greggs, Poundstretcher and Majestic Wine and I usually visit a selection of all of them.

I thought this was a vagina steaming product

I thought this was about a dildo shaped like a zeppelin

SistersOfPercy · 24/11/2017 23:35

It's almost always on offer in B&Q working out at a quid a roll. I stock up if I go 😳

BarbaraofSevillle · 24/11/2017 23:37

I know someone called Regina but pronounced with a hard G and I'm sure that's wrong.

PortiaCastis · 24/11/2017 23:57

I thought this was a vaginal steaming product

No you use it to mop up after the jade eggs or a golden delicious

HermionesRightHook · 25/11/2017 00:36

Never heard of it and I am about as middle class as you can get - I'm a Plenty fan.

But tell me more of this wonder product.

SistersOfPercy · 25/11/2017 12:29

@HermionesRightHook

It's fabulous, you can properly wring it out. It's also abrasive enough that it gives a good scrub when using it for cleaning. It's like the hard man of kitchen roll😂

stargirl1701 · 25/11/2017 12:37

It's all still bloody landfill. We use washable kitchen roll.

Honeybooboo123 · 25/11/2017 14:23

never heard of it, I just buy whatever is on special in Waitrose.

HermionesRightHook · 25/11/2017 14:49

Wow, I have looked it up now. I was imagining Regina Blitz to be a no nonsense woman in her 50s, with perfectly blow dried hair and a sensible suit with some snazzy shoes, wielding power over the kitchen surfaces with a firm glare.
