Was told that buying regina blitz kitchen roll is pretentious and a middle class excess? Confused

Anyone agree?

Oh I love a bit of Regina Blitz action. All other kitchen rolls are dead to me.

WorraLiberty · 24/11/2017 22:01

There was a time when my Friday nights involved getting ready to go out with my friends, while drinking a bottle of wine and listening to loud music.

Then off out to a pub/nightclub until the early hours. Finished off with a takeaway and getting home around 3am with blisters on my feet.

Where did it all go wrong? Why am I enthusiastically discussing Morrison's kitchen towel, whilst sitting in my pyjamas waiting for the news to start? Shock Confused

BarbaraofSevillle · 24/11/2017 22:02

I only ever buy value kitchen roll, or possibly a brand if on offer makes it cheaper. Kitchen roll is on my 'just get whatevers cheapest' list.

PortiaCastis · 24/11/2017 22:03

Oooooooh if it's a steaming product does Gwennie use it to steam her vag?

WorraLiberty · 24/11/2017 22:03

Oh now I've read Halebeke's post I feel much better Grin

I'm now in a kitchen towel gang.

Mrs9C · 24/11/2017 22:05

That's crazy, whoever said that to you! It's a giant roll, and you only need 1 sheet, so it actually works out cheaper than cheap kitchen roll where it disintegrates straight away. Besides, it's often half price in certain supermarkets, hardly middle class!

dudsville · 24/11/2017 22:05

100% cotton towels. Use wash repeat.

Pearlsaringer · 24/11/2017 22:06

Kitchen roll definitely infra dig to the middle classes as is fabric conditioner

MrsPicklesonSmythe · 24/11/2017 22:08

Can't believe I'm reading this on a Friday night. What the fuck happened to my life?!

2pandasandapig · 24/11/2017 22:08

Well speaking as someone who lives in an area where our shops have more shoplifters than customers I would have to say that I would not associate Regina Blitz with middle class. The corner shop seems to go through mountains of the stuff!

thenightsky · 24/11/2017 22:09

All kitchen towels are shite compared to this amazing stuff

Sisinisawa · 24/11/2017 22:09

Ooh NatMat I must be posher than I thought! I use washable cloths. Although that might just make me a hippy.

shakeyourcaboose · 24/11/2017 22:09

We generally just leave kitchen spillages to animals- upper level- the feline, ground level canine .

shrunkenhead · 24/11/2017 22:12

Just use a tea towel. Paper towels aren't v eco friendly...(Not sure what that makes me!?)

YesThisIsMe · 24/11/2017 22:15

Literally never heard of it. Ocado deliver me Waitrose Ecological recycled stuff when necessary - which I think answers the class question to 3 decimal places.

MargotLovedTom1 · 24/11/2017 22:15

Regina Blitz would be an excellent name for a band.
It's probably more middle class than Juan Shit, sorry ... Sheet, and whatever the hell he advertised.

hazeyjane · 24/11/2017 22:19

Ok, so as far as I can make out, Regina Blitz is either...
A song by a mediocre glam rock band
A type of 'vaginal cleansing' product
A disposable cloth for mopping up spills
Or a
Particularly patriotic bombing spree during WWII

InsomniacAnonymous · 24/11/2017 22:31

It's beyond me how some people can be judgemental about such mundane things as kitchen roll. I use kitchen roll from Lidl every day but have rolls of Regina Blitz too, which I use when I want something stronger. WTF does that have to do with pretentiousness? It's just using whatever does the required job the best. It's only kitchen roll for goodness sake.

I've never heard of it either and I'm decidedly middle class Wink

GallicosCats · 24/11/2017 22:34

Ah yes, Margo - 'Juan Shit smells Plenty' as we used to call that...

Costco do a pretty good version. We get PILs to buy us a load when they come over.

grumpysquash3 · 24/11/2017 22:34

It's just a kitchen roll. No need to overthink it. Buy it if you like it, don't if you don't. End of.

Fresta · 24/11/2017 22:36

No, it's the opposite. The lower your class, the posher your loo and kitchen paper. It's an inverse thing. Only the working classes think Andrex makes them sophisticated and having 'a little bit of luxury.'

squoosh · 24/11/2017 22:41

Whereas I suppose the poshos are happy with some old sandpaper found in the under gardener's tool shed.

squoosh · 24/11/2017 22:42

And maybe the really, really, posh don't wipe at all. Only the hoi polloi worry about having a clean bumhole.
