To ask when payday is?

I have baby brains and for some reason I've confused myself and expected to be paid today Confused

My last wage came in on the 27th last month. I've since also started maternity leave.

My wage gets calculated between the 14th and 14th (I think) and I get paid for the month behind.
Also if I remember correctly my company always does an early pay day in December around the 18/19th.

I'm sure someone on here knows how it works.
Is it payday next week?

If so I'm in a pickle as I used up quite a bit of this months wage for Christmas presents and last min baby bits Sad

Sounds like you get paid on the 3rd last working day of the month which is common is this is how public sector workers are usually paid and lots of private businesses follow suit. In which case you will be paid on Tuesday.

LaurieFairyCake · 24/11/2017 09:26

I'm just as confused Hmm

Dh hasn't been paid and he has ALWAYS (apart from once) got paid on the last Friday of the month

And the 'once' was a month like this one - where there were 4 working days to follow but no Friday

So I conclude that actually he DOES get paid on the last working day of the month but it's coincidentally fallen on a Friday/Sat/Sun most of the time - they have NEVER run a payroll on a Monday or a Tuesday or a Wednesday

BarbaraofSevillle · 24/11/2017 09:26

As far as I am aware the usual pay date in the NHS is the 25th or earlier if the 25th is on a weekend or Bank Holiday.

If a few more people reply, we can collectively come up with somewhere between the first and last day of the month.

LaurieFairyCake · 24/11/2017 09:27

He's public sector

Yokohamajojo · 24/11/2017 09:27

Today Grin

BarbaraofSevillle · 24/11/2017 09:29

Public sector payroll fucks up quite a lot though Laurie. If your DH hasn't been paid and his colleagues have, he needs to see what's going on.

Hotpinkangel19 · 24/11/2017 09:29

You do know that not everyone has the same payday don't you!!!!

FGSholdthedoor · 24/11/2017 09:29

Looking at my last wages it all seems to be every 4 weeks which would be today (unless I'm completely off).
But I remember last year they brought it forward a little to then do the early payday in December.

I think I'm confusing myself I've always been crap with stuff like this.
I'll probably leave it until Monday to ask..

And yes I am well aware not everyone has the same payday...

I just figured if I gave a few details about dates etc someone might come along that has more of an idea than me (as I mentioned I'm bad with things like this).

Thanks Barbara Thanks

Unlike the OP I'm not bothered though, was just going to shift us temporarily out of overdraft for 20 minutes Grin

If he's not paid by Thursday then I will mention it as the mortgage comes out on the 1st

SandyDenny · 24/11/2017 09:37

In the time you've typed on here you could have rung your payroll department.

There are no rules on when people get paid, how can any of us know what your employer does, you can give us every bit of information about them but we still won't know

DearTeddyRobinson · 24/11/2017 09:39

It's a 5 week month. We thought DH was getting paid today, it's not till next week though. Something to do with PAYE week number 35 or somethinggets confused

canihaveacoffeeplease · 24/11/2017 09:39

We pay on last Friday of the month (so today).

Pay early for Christmas though, always the 20th/closest working day to that.

tinysparklyshoes · 24/11/2017 09:41

Mine is every Friday. Why not ask the people who pay you instead of complete randoms who couldn't possibly know when you will get paid?

StupidSlimyGit · 24/11/2017 09:46

I get paid four weekly on a Friday (supermarket) for paid on 27th and again today. From personal experience sometimes they fuck up the first payment after you go on Mat leave. Just phone them and ask, they'll be used to it, plus if you were due today they can sort it for you

AstridWhite · 24/11/2017 09:54

Why don't you just phone your HR/Payroll department instead of asking us? Confused

Blobby10 · 24/11/2017 09:57

Our contracts say we will be paid on the last Friday of the month, excluding December when we are paid on the last working day before christmas.

Son gets paid on 28th of every month, OH gets paid on last day of month. Everyone is different!!

emma6776 · 24/11/2017 10:01

I’m paid on the last working day of the month, so next for me is 30 November. However we get paid early in December so I’ll get paid again on 20 December. It makes it a loonnggg wait to January pay day!

Kitsharrington · 24/11/2017 10:04

Bringing it forward in december isn't going to affect this month, they don't adjust throughout the year for that. You will just have a shorter gap between november and december pays. (and a reaalllly long gap between december and january).

1DAD2KIDS · 24/11/2017 10:04

Every 28 days in my job. So the date changes every month. But on occasion I get paid twice in the same month.

Vitalogy · 24/11/2017 10:21

Do some people have to be so bloody nasty.

I was wondering the same thing this morning, I've just checked mine and it's gone in. Online banking is handy for this at least.

Triskaidekaphilia · 24/11/2017 10:21

Could it be you get paid on the 29th, but because the 29th October was a Sunday, you were paid on the 27th? This explains the last two months but not any further back though Confused

Wiggypudding · 24/11/2017 10:24

You should have been paid today. If the money's not gone in I'd be kicking up a massive fuss hun

tinysparklyshoes · 24/11/2017 10:34

Do some people have to be so bloody nasty

What are you referring to? Confused

SloeSloeQuickQuickGin · 24/11/2017 10:36
