Having worked for half dozen SecSates and seen scores of talented FSOs give their all for the Republic, my head's exploding. It will take years for State and diplomacy to recover from this forced talent drain.

No attempt has even been made to make that pie (or tart as we’d call it here in the UK) look homemade, a shocking failure on her part if you ask me I’m giving her a 1/10 for effort.

I can cook and bake pretty well but have on occasion “fake it” rather than baked it, when really pushed for time- a plain sponge removed from packaging, slapped onto a cake plate and quickly decorated with whipped cream and fresh fruit, or butter icing (frosting) and fresh flowers takes about 10min, looks fabulous and isn’t easy to spot (as long as the packaging disappears!). That leaves more time to prep and cook the main courses, which are harder to fake

Very impressed by pie analysis skills on display here.

Plus, all this talk is making me hungry.

I’m full of rage today but fake pie may be the thing that tips me over the edge.
