Yes I was quite surprised to learn that mass shootings are not a big problem in the USA - I thought they averaged 1 a day. Or maybe that's not seen as a problem?

I thought more people were shot in the us by friends, family and general malcontents than murdered by daesh sympathisers.

I’m guessing if its domestic black on black or white on white violence, its A-ok. It’s when anyone vaguely brown and forrin-sounding is killing white folks it becomes a problem.

I think she was trying to say that Christians shooting yo weren’t a problem as he’d said “well seeing as you’re willing to make mass generalisations in one direction, let’s see if you’ll do it in another” and then segued into Christian shooters.

I’m sad to say that listening to Philip Pullman afterwards also made me shout at the radio. Why the fuck are they having an author who freely professes to not know anything about neuroscience or brains talking about “what he feels” consciousness is and having an actual neuroscientist on there as well to debate with him. It was just ridiculous and he clearly didn’t have a clue. Surely it’s this casual disregard for people who have spent lifetimes studying a subject that has lead to the erosion of trust in experts and this post-fact nightmare we find ourselves in? It was infuriating listening to his uninformed musings versus an actual brain scientist and I always had a soft spot for him as he went to my college so I wanted to like what he was saying
