Despite the fact they live with them and could (and hopefully have) said it to their face.

Particularly the OTT 'I love you so much, can't wait to celebrate tonight' variety which includes a collage of 17 favourite photos.

AIBU to think it's all for show? If IABU please forgive me it's 5pm on Tuesday (worst day of the week) and I'm grumpy!

I personally quite enjoy seeing people wishing their family members happy birthday but then again I only really have FB friends that are friends in real life. If I was sat 'cringing' at every birthday status on FB I'd probably be questioning why these people were on my newsfeed to begin with. People have always paid for birthday announcements in newspapers, so publicly wishing someone a happy birthday is not a new phenomenon. If you can't see any joy in someone saying 'happy birthday' to their child/DP etc then perhaps it's time to unfriend or unfollow?

Brilliant. I really hope he does wish her happy birthday on a carpentry forum. He could screen shot it and text it to her Grin
