About mystery packages arriving for DP

Posted about this before, but under a name change and can't find original thread. DP has been receiving parcels from Amazon, which neither of us have ordered. All bank statements checked, and Amazon say that these are being paid for by a gift card, but can't say who's sending them.

In the past he has received some charging leads, some other cables which we had no idea what they were for, and the weirdest one yet, a baseball cap with integrated hidden camera (!!!).

There's been no parcels received for a couple of months, until today, when these came. Another strange cable, and an MP3 player in a box with a weird poem. This is driving us CRAZY! Who is sending these things and WHY?! Grin

AIBU to ask for your ideas to solve this mystery, Mumsnetters?!

Has your DP have an amazon public wishlist? As anyone can choose something on everyone's public wishlist and get them posted to him.

JetCityWoman might have got it right. Google FecPecu and it comes up as a review of Fecpecu MP3 player.

whereiscaroline · 19/11/2017 20:25

Definitely not for someone else; the address is right, we are the first people to ever have lived here. His name is almost right on the parcel, although the last letter of his surname is missing. If his name was "John Smith", the parcels are addressed to "John Smit".

Amazon won't take them back - we can't return them as we didn't order them, we have no order number etc. We were concerned about someone else missing their parcels too, but Amazon are adamant they're gifts for DP!

Thanks to PP who found the previous thread, yes that's the one.

Maybe it's the review thing, although he has no memory of signing up to such a scheme and there's no paperwork included in the box, E.G. reminding him to leave a review.... just so odd.

Amazon can absolutely take them back. Simply go to your returns centre. Click any order and start a return . The choose "received in addition to what was ordered". This will create a pre paid return label for you
You send the item back and the gift sender is notified that their order has been refunded and it might flag to them that maybe they are sending it to the wrong address.

JetCityWoman · 19/11/2017 23:26

There wont be anything in the box OP because its sent out like a normal order.

Often theres an email with info on it. Could be in either of your spam folders. Easy to click 'yes im interested' and not realise what you've signed up for.

Great idea above about a way to send it back.

whereiscaroline · 20/11/2017 00:03

I remember your other thread, I still think your DP is Moriarty

Could this be a friend or family member playing a joke on you?
