The only hobby I've ever had were my horses when I was a young girl.

Fast forward to now, I'm 23 and have no hobbies! What are yours?

OP posts:
RatRolyPoly · 12/11/2017 11:53

Hockey. I'm quite good after 25 years of practice.

mumoffour1716154 · 12/11/2017 12:04

Reading, word games, knitting and sewing. Currently learning to crochet yo eventually make a chunky pouffe. Also some upcycling and general diy

Bambamber · 12/11/2017 12:08

Aerial arts and hula hooping

mumoffour1716154 · 12/11/2017 12:08

@thegoodnameshadgone can’t sew from scratch unless mum cuts and marks it out. I’m a weird size 14, so buy clothes a lot bigger from charity shop and adapt to my shape,

flumposie · 12/11/2017 12:24

Gardening, yoga, baking and this year started going to tv show conventions. In March I am going to Walker Stalker to meet cast of shows like The Walking Dead, Prison Break. Am obsessed with that at the moment 😂

GrimDamnFanjo · 12/11/2017 12:41

Genealogy, bullet journaling, walking, always looking for more things to do...

frenchfancy · 12/11/2017 12:49

Sewing - I make all my own clothes, and many of DD and DHs too.

Used to be horses but arthritis in my back put paid to that so now DH goes riding while I sew.

Running
Swimming
Cycling
Hiking
Reading
Podcasts (so much better than the radio when driving!)

Arrowfanatic · 12/11/2017 13:01

Karate, I both train myself and run a karate club teaching others. It's less of a hobby and more of a passion tbh.

thepatchworkcat · 12/11/2017 13:10

I start things but then don’t pick them up again for months which annoys me about myself. Spend too much time on my phone!

Intermittently I like:
Colouring in
Paper cutting
Keep trying to learn to knit but, again, don’t pick it up often enough
Pilates, Zumba, dance classes - but I’m so rubbish at getting out of the house in the evenings especially in winter
Sometimes do a FutureLearn course or a bit of French on Duolingo
Reading
Codebreaker puzzles
TV!
Baking but don’t do it much.

I annoy myself by not actually doing the hobbies though and spending too much time mumsnetting or on Facebook. I need someone to confiscate my phone.

Although currently 10 weeks pregnant and super nauseous so my life consists of hiding in bed away from food smells!

user1471518636 · 12/11/2017 13:16

OP...why not get back into horses? If it was an interest before then the passion will still be there! I had a break when my children were younger but I started back with lessons 4 ish years ago and I’ve got my own again now :-)

Greyhorses · 12/11/2017 13:34

I never grew out of horses sadly for my bank balance Sad

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 12/11/2017 13:42

23 here too Smile
I have horses on the farm, I try to ride often but I have a chronic health condition which limits me so have several local girls who ride out for me when I am unable to, but besides that, I swim, do Pilates, baking, reading (half my life is spent reading!!), writing never giving up on the dream of being an author shooting, surfing... so nothing overly structured but quite a lot of stuff nonetheless! Also I used to love skiing whenever I could get away but that's off the table now.

Animation86 · 12/11/2017 16:17

Pole fitness!

Simply THE best thing I ever took up. Ever!

ZepellinBend · 12/11/2017 16:38

Used to do all sorts of gym classes but my back's playing up.

Online courses - presently teaching myself Excel and have done ones through Futurelearn before

I'm signing up this week for volunteering too

littlepeas · 12/11/2017 16:42

Yoga and piano. I enjoy cooking and reading, but they are more day to day things that are just part of my routine and I don't really think of them as hobbies.

Boredboredboredboredbored · 12/11/2017 17:13

Running and instagram

Luttrell · 12/11/2017 17:17

Martial arts, singing in an acapella choir, hiking, indoor rock-climbing, mountain biking, studying a second language, weightlifting, studying software development for work.

stevie69 · 12/11/2017 17:23

Also going to watch football, which I've been doing for over 40 years. My beloved team is the strongest in the Football League. They must be; they're holding everyone else up at the minute Blush

I also work out (fairly hard) - I have to maintain the body shape that I want (note: that reads I want. It's for me; nobody else)

Also I don't need an excuse to take myself off to the theatre. My home city has the largest theatre complex outside of London; it's fantastic. I'll let you work out where I am Smile

emsmum79 · 12/11/2017 19:28
