To think there's no such thing as a nice nighty?

PJ bottoms irritate the fuck out of me in bed, up my arse crack, twisting round and rolling up. Tried cheap ones, fancy ones, tapered legs, open legs and shorts. Plus worn regularly give me awful thrush.

I've been wearing a pH top or t shirt to bed but I want something longer, that covers my bum.

I can't find a nice, comfortable nighty. Everything either looks like something my grandmother would wear or is a silky/ polyester sexy thing.

I want a nice, comfortable, none cutesy, non grandma nighty.

Primark do lots of long t-shirt nighties

GetYourHandsOffMyUnicorn · 08/11/2017 23:52

Why not live dangerously and wear nothing? Problem solved.

Exactly what I was thinking.

SenecaFalls · 08/11/2017 23:56

I live in a warm climate and get way too hot in any form of pajamas. Plus I hate having anything around my waist when I sleep. I wear short sleeve cotton knee-length nightshirts year-round.

Fozzleyplum · 09/11/2017 00:04

I buy these White Company ones from Ebay. They are very soft and comfirtable

PoppyPopcorn · 09/11/2017 00:12

I had a total nightmare finding nighties this time last year - I always wear pyjamas but needed a nightie for a hospital stay. They were either very old fashioned and ridiculously expensive, or slinky strappy numbers which don't exactly scream post op recovery.

Ended up with a couple from matalan - bought in a larger size as they appeared longer.

Troubleinstore · 09/11/2017 00:31

Try tk maxx..lots there from overseas designers who have different styles

JaceLancs · 09/11/2017 00:35

I like nightshirt style nightwear just bought some really nice red black and white check ones from Sainsbury’s

Primark have long t-shirt nighties that are soft and cheap. I am 5ft 1 and my OH is 6ft 5 so I wear his old shirts to bed as they are soft. I can't do a midnight loo stumble as we have teenagers.

Needadvicetoleave · 09/11/2017 18:18

deepest and hiding I get up with DS several times a night. It's freezing so I need something but don't want to wake up enough to put bottoms on. I can be up any where from 5 minutes 3 hours.

H&M sell oversized cotton nightshirts - I gave 2 and they go down to my knees. There’s some on their website

I bought I gorgeous slouchy soft feel t-shirt material 'dress' (think fabric that has a sticker on 'feel me' in a supermarket from Amazon for about £7.

Turns out I wouldn't wear it out as it's just a long feminine t-shirt and a bit too casual, bit too long to wear with my usual leggings, doesn't look right with tights and shoes...

But WOW! Hello bedtime! It's utterly perfect for putting on after a bath, long enough to not worry about a fire drill (seriously I worry, although I've never had a fire drill at home) it looks quite nice, very comfy, I don't loathe my reflection & would answer the door to a stranger wearing it (given that I don't answer the door to strangers).

I'd tell you the exact item but I cut out all the tags... search jersey t-shirt dresses on Amazon.

Not important (though nice for the ego) but DH feels it's the nicest loungewear I've ever owned.

I need to invest in more.

Mine is black, but there were so many colours available it gave me a headache.

I hate pastel colours or anything that shouts NIGHTY!

Freshprincess · 09/11/2017 19:16

Have a look in TK Maxx, they have loads, non-granny/non slinky ones.

I've also got a couple of button up shirt style long sleeved ones from Tesco.

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 09/11/2017 19:42

I got a gorgeous cotton one from the White Company last summer. I get too cold naked and also hate the feel of having something round my middle! Big nighty convert over here.

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 09/11/2017 19:57

Therealslimshady1 and Dabitdontrubit, good idea wearing a jersey dress! It's ideal isn't it Smile

Ttbb · 09/11/2017 20:19

Cyberjammies do great nighties. Loose fitting, high quality cotton in very nice prints.

Ttbb · 09/11/2017 20:20

Also you may want to try buying pyjamas that are bigger-of they are riding up they are too tight.

peppykoala · 09/11/2017 20:33

I have a version of this one and I love it www.thewhitecompany.com/Brushed-Moon-and-Star-Flannel-Nightshirt/p/NSCNS?swatch=Grey+Marl%2FWhite

There are some lovely ones on Oysho too - may have to buy the constellation one! www.oysho.com/gb/nightwear/nighties-c1469077.html

Almostfifty · 09/11/2017 20:41

What inappropriateraspberry said. I have loads of nightshirts, I need to cover my arms as I sleep with them over my head and they get cold.

undertheradarplease · 09/11/2017 20:53

@Therealslimshady1 I second H&M - love this one. Not girlie or grannyish at all.

I have this from M&S - it feels very nice on and I think it looks ok. There are no buttons to get in the way or polyester in the cloth mix (which many, many nighties have). The pintucks give it a bit of shape. I agree that it is so hard to find anything that is alright

H&M have a few different styles of long cotton t shirts at the moment like this one www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0240670010.html I have a few of these - very comfy and I can wear PJ shorts under them if I'm worried about modesty.

dudsville · 09/11/2017 21:07

I can't post links but Lee Valley flannel nightshirts are amazing. I also have robes and socks. Great stuff!

livingthegoodlife · 09/11/2017 21:13

This is what you are looking for. Extremely comfortable.
