To think there's no such thing as a nice nighty?

PJ bottoms irritate the fuck out of me in bed, up my arse crack, twisting round and rolling up. Tried cheap ones, fancy ones, tapered legs, open legs and shorts. Plus worn regularly give me awful thrush.

I've been wearing a pH top or t shirt to bed but I want something longer, that covers my bum.

I can't find a nice, comfortable nighty. Everything either looks like something my grandmother would wear or is a silky/ polyester sexy thing.

I want a nice, comfortable, none cutesy, non grandma nighty.

I absolutely and totally hate night wear crunching up and rolling round in bed. In summer I just wear vest tops/pants. I'm winter long sleeved close fitting tops - those m&s ones - and Sainsburys leggings. Perfect pyjamas imo- they keep you warm and stay put!

Therealslimshady1 · 08/11/2017 23:17

They sell cotton tunics/dresses at H&M, fitted stretchy cotton. No riding up, no fabric wrapping itself around you.long enough to cover your bum if you jump out of bed for an emergency Grin

It's my secret to nighties.

Between 6 and 10 quid and they wash well

SueGeneris · 08/11/2017 23:18

I hated wearing nighties as a child - when you wake up they have rolled right up round your middle. What's the point?!

feelslikearockandahardplace · 08/11/2017 23:18

Watching with interest. Wore a nightie on Monday night and DH asked why I was "dressed up like a granny". Washed and in the charity bag on Tuesday.

Etymology23 · 08/11/2017 23:18

I like the button up night shirts for winter. Brushed cotton so cosier than all the strappy ones.

inappropriateraspberry · 08/11/2017 23:19

You want a nightshirt not a nighty! Supermarkets, Primark I etc all sell them - but yes, more likely to get stewpot things in the summer. There should be lots of cosy warm nightshirts around in the run up to Xmas now.

Realslimshady shares my night wear approach!

inappropriateraspberry · 08/11/2017 23:19

*strappy, not stewpot!

Why do you have to put your PJ bottoms back on when you get up in the night?

Surely I’m not the only one who stumbles about half naked to go to the loo?!

HidingBehindTheWallpaper · 08/11/2017 23:22

Just sleep in the nip and be done with.

StepAwayFromCake · 08/11/2017 23:23

I just received the Lands End ones I ordered. Verrrrry nice Grin

SueGeneris · 08/11/2017 23:26

It's too cold this time of year to bumble about at 17 degrees with no bottoms on. It's the only reason I wear stuff- I hate getting out of bed and being freezing even if it is just to go down the landing for a couple of minutes.

Papergirl1968 · 08/11/2017 23:26

I got a nice nighty from primark. Styled like a long t-shirt. Cheap, washes well, nice and soft, 100 per cent cotton, and longer than many - comes down nearly to my knees.

Grimmfebruary · 08/11/2017 23:26

Primark men's 'long line' tops almost come down to my knees (I'm 5'6) and are about 4 quid each. I'm tempted to 'borrow' dp's instead only buying maternity clothes, they're comfy 😂

Ollivander84 · 08/11/2017 23:27

Some from H&M (dresses but would make good sleepwear)

Charley50 · 08/11/2017 23:28

I've got a nice stripy night shirt style from Primark too. It's very soft and covers my bum.

DayManChampionOfTheSun · 08/11/2017 23:29

Needadvicetoleave

If you are in Primark check the areas with the folded pjs. That’s were I found my one, it’s like a really long t-shirt, no straps and is soooo comfy. I’m like you and cannot wear knickers and trousers to bed

I hope you find your ‘bedded bliss’ in the end Grin

Trailedanderror · 08/11/2017 23:31

My specialist subject Winkmarimekko ££
around £20 in sales
Muji also do a wonderful crinkle dress in a cube Confused for about £15 which is a lovely light decent and comfy nightie.

DragonNoodleCake · 08/11/2017 23:37

Long t-shirt style?

To think there's no such thing as a nice nighty?
SpiritedLondon · 08/11/2017 23:42

Why not live dangerously and wear nothing? Problem solved.

Arseface · 08/11/2017 23:44

Use very large men's shirts. I'm 5',6" and I can bend down without baring anything untoward.

Gorgeously made, last ages and get better the longer you have them. Also really easy to pick up in sales if you're looking for bigger sizes.

If you're staying elsewhere you can easily pair them with pjs or shorts but they're much comfier alone.

BuzzKillington · 08/11/2017 23:45

I didn't know people still wear nighties - they look very uncomfortable. Don't they end up rucked up at waist level?

We sleep naked, always have done.

ferrier · 08/11/2017 23:47

Chemises are perfect.
I've got this one: www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_161010748255_-1
Really comfy.

This looks good too: www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_151010831563_-1

If you prefer something with sleeves maybe:

Yes, but that doesn't work for hospital stays, staying with friends, central heating breakdowns and so on.
