To feel devastated by this (lighthearted) **'Our Girl' Spoiler Alert - title edited by MNHQ**

This is so fucking embarrassing I've name changed.

If you watched Our Girl, you will know that one of the main characters Elvis died last week. I had a major crush on him and I cried on the episode that he died because it was very sad how they portrayed his love interests grief.

However here is the embarrassing bit - a week later and I still feel sad about it!! Every time I see stories about it in the news I feel really sad. Now, the rational part of me has thought it might be because my DH looks like Luke Pasqualino (who plays Elvis), especially when he was in Skins but facially he still looks like him now. So I think my sadness is because maybe I relate him to my DH?!?

Tell me I'm not fucking bonkers. Please tell me about your similar stories to stop myself feeling so stupid - and don't worry I've already given myself one of these Biscuit

pirate I'm glad I'm not the only one that cried! I think the only thing that will save the series is if she's pregnant by him or she dies at the end and we see them finally get married "in the afterlife"

MyCats the original actress was Lacey Turner. She was asked to do the second series but had a big storyline coming up in East Enders and opted to do that instead.

I cried buckets at Elvis' letter from the grave - I felt very disorientated the next day. He was absolutely gorgeous!

ElvisElvisElvis · 05/11/2017 21:55

Haha sonya when I met him, he was 22 and a dead ringer for him when he was on Skins. When he grew his long hair on musketeers he didn't really resemble him anymore but now he's cut it back short I can see the resemblance again. My DH is now 33 and I think Luke has got better with age!

I genuinely have no idea how all of those who are being so rude have missed that he dies. You clearly have been living under a rock since Tuesday

I've recorded it as I work a lot of evenings and tend to watch my recordings at the weekend. I've yet to watch this but at least I know who dies now!

And for what it's worth, I hadn't seen it in the news, I don't watch or read daily news and I'm rarely on social media, doesn't mean I live under a rock.

ElvisElvisElvis · 05/11/2017 22:10

Well emily the edited title with "spoiler alert* has been up about 30 mins now so if you didnt want to find out who died why read the thread?

I cried when he died too Blush

However my emotions were kept at bay somewhat during the tragic parts with my autistic ds (13) giving me all the technical information about the guns, helicopters and how they make the bombs Grin

I'd read it before title was edited then went off to do something else that came up then came back and replied.

That ok with you?

It's not a spoiler if it's already been on. I made the mistake of looking at an online newspaper half an hour after Our Girl was shown last week....top story was that Elvis had died. I was just about to watch it, and was disappointed but it wasn't a spoiler.
OP I still feel sad when I think of Mark in ER lol.

HAHA Diana - no way!!!!!!!

seven201 · 05/11/2017 23:01

I also cried when he died. I don’t live under a rock but hadn’t seen this mentioned anywhere and I would have been a little miffed but not angry if I’d stumbled on this thread. He’s very handsome but I prefer the boss.

NotNowBernard1 · 05/11/2017 23:14

Elvis was gorgeous but I didn't feel sad when he died because Michelle Keegan gets on my wick. I don't believe she's an army medic - I just see Tina from Corrie who's married to that guy from Essex who's all teeth.

ElvisElvisElvis · 05/11/2017 23:17

bernard I so want Michelle Keegan and Luke to be a couple in RL though

He was rather comely on The Musketeers.

Hell, they were all very shaggable on The Musketeers, esp Tom Burke.

skinoncustard · 05/11/2017 23:21

Elvis isn’t dead, saw him going into Hobbycraft in Peterborough last Monday !

Ilovelblue · 05/11/2017 23:42

I wonder what on earth he was doing in Hobbycraft?!! He didn't strike me as a Hobbycraft sort of guy.

skinoncustard · 05/11/2017 23:47

Me neither ! I thought maybe Halloween related !

EmilyChambers79 · 06/11/2017 07:47

Eh? You called some rude, I called some twats (which they are)

And I'm the "keyboard warrior"?!?! How? I never implied you were a twat, why would I? I wasn't even that arsed to see who died, my exclamation point and tone were wrote as a friendly, "well at least I know now" YOU were the one who then got defensive by asking why I chose to read the post and reply when I did.

Just remember tone cannot be interpreted on written posts so it's absolutely not my fault if you are reading into things that are simply not there.

I still feel gutted about Ashes to Ashes ending and still get chills when I hear Life on Mars! Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes ended years ago but I still pine for them (so much I rewatch them every December!!!)
OP did you ever see the Miranda episodes that featured Luke Pasqualino in them? Very funny - his delivery in them is perfect in my opinion, worth a watch if you want a giggle!!!
