As per title,
I am reading a book (2nd in a trilogy) that my DH started reading first. He reads it in bed at night and I read it at other times. He thinks this is outrageous and totally socially unacceptable! I don't see the problem.
IABU?!

This used to happen when I was growing up - someone would leave their book in the loo and it would often get nabbed by someone else. ‘‘Twas annoying.

I am reading same book as DH too but on kindle, we have linked kindles and I was surprised to see that he was reading the same Cecelia Ahern book as me!

Oh this would drive me mad, I don't share books, no idea why but they're mine all mine I tell you!! I would have to hide the book and quietly growl if you got yo close to it,

YABU but I’m very weird about books Grin

I started reading 11.22.63 and I swear my husband had a go on it when I wasn't around. The pages were crumpled. He kept mithering and he kept saying "where are you up to" cos he was as desperate to read it.

DH and I have done this. I think it's fine. It's like swimming lanes, the slower person has to give way to allow overtaking.

missiondecision · 12/11/2017 19:41

This would piss me off, not sure why though Blush

YABU
I don't know why, I can't put it into words but that would drive me insane. I've got annoyed just thinking about it Grin

ShowMePotatoSalad · 12/11/2017 19:55

Sorry OP, but I think YABU. That would do my head in. Can't you just read something else until he's finished with it?

Strummerville · 12/11/2017 20:01

I don't think this would bother me as long as the book was put back where I left it and my place wasn't lost.

I'm a corner-folder too, never understood why people get het up about it. It's a mass-produced paperback, not an illuminated medieval scroll. And I like lived-in books - I try to buy second-hand, for this reason among others. Obviously would not fold a corner on a book belonging to someone else.
