to wear a soft bra in bed?

Have recently noticed that my boobs feel very 'heavy' when I take my bra off and put my pj's on at night. Its not a comfortable feeling, and I'm wondering if I should maybe start to have some support at night. I'm a 34DD and 45 now so naturally things are starting to 'ahem' go south. Anyone else noticed this and if so what kind of bra would you suggest?

No but one time I was lying on my side with my boobs beside me (big boob problems Grin) and the dog stood on my nipple. I shrieked but he thought it was a game and starting bouncing around so I was trapped in agony Blush

If I roll over in the night with no bra on the movement of my boobs wakes me up Grin bra wearer and proud!

Since my DD got me into pyjamas lounge wear while relaxing at home, I've worn a soft bra/ sports bra/ crop top with them, and often keep it on when I go to bed.
I'm 49, perimenopausal and sometimes get very sensitive nipples. I have to wear a padded soft bra in bed at those times, as it helps for them to be warm and squeezed in.

SquareSophia · 01/11/2017 17:23

Sainsbury’s do fabulous crop top type bras. I practically live in mine. They are great for sleeping in and the padded sort give great support so you can get away with them under a jumper too instead of an under wired bra. Now I’m over 40 it’s all about comfort first Smile

Albatross26 · 01/11/2017 17:32

I wear soft crop top style bras every day, I just hate wiring, I found it was digging into my ribs when sat down and they always seemed to be too tight or too loose. Even if I took the wire out the shape meant they'd still dig in. I'm a small b cup and bloody love my soft bras, so comfy!

I love the Bravissimo sleep tops, v.comfy but quite expensive.

Agoddessonamountaintop · 01/11/2017 22:50

Really? I tried one of those on and it looked and felt like my boobs were encased in cardboard. Maybe they’ve improved it now. It’s impossible to find anything to fit a small back with a large cupsize.

DramaAlpaca · 01/11/2017 22:54

Wear whatever you want to in bed, YANBU.

WhatTheWhatNow · 01/11/2017 22:56

I wear a sleep bra. More comfortable and I like how I look better in my nightclothes with supported norks.

PrincessPlod · 01/11/2017 23:00

I’m 37 and 36G. I’ve always worn a bra to bed since I was 16, being blessed in the chest department I’ve found braless actually uncomfortable

SleepyHeadThisTime · 01/11/2017 23:01

Check out Molke - they do the most amazing soft sleep bras

Kezzamo · 01/11/2017 23:13

Omg to the person wearing underwired bras to bed. It's literally the first thing I remove after walking through the front door! Sometimes in the car on the way home Blush

MinervaSaidThar · 01/11/2017 23:16

YABU from me I'm afraid. My soft and comfy bra comes off as soon as I get home! I can't sleep in any bra, feel hot and uncomfortable.

TractorTedTed · 01/11/2017 23:21

I've found my people!

I only started wearing a bra in bed when I was breastfeeding, but have never stopped as it's so comfy.

The daft thing is that it feels wrong somehow. So even though my breastfeeding night bras are literally falling apart, I haven't replaced them as I'm no longer breastfeeding. Hmm I know it makes no sense, but there you go. But I feel I can go and buy some proper new ones now after the reassurance on this thread Grin

HollyandBrambles · 01/11/2017 23:30

Oh hello this thread! I never thought to wear mine but I have a soft Sainsbury’s crop top and never thought I’d wear it in bed, just about to go up now and I’m going to give it a whirl!! Grin

NewBrian · 01/11/2017 23:34

The only time I don’t wear a bra is when I’m in the bath. Hate my boobs flopping around.

torthecatlady · 01/11/2017 23:37

I wear a cheap sports bra to bed. I am an F cup and it hurts to not wear a bra.

AnnieAnoniMouse · 01/11/2017 23:40

YANBU to wear whatever you want to bed, why would you be?

Personally I wear my 'in great need of an iron' 🤣 Birthday Suit to bed & occasionally a t shirt. Never a bra. But whatever YOU want to wear in YOUR bed is fine. Be comfortable.

inchyrablue · 01/11/2017 23:42

DD wears vest tops with built in support. similar to this Her favourites are from Hollister/Gilly Hicks.

HPandBaconSandwiches · 01/11/2017 23:46

Another vote for the Sloggi crop top Mine have been going strong for over 5 years. So much more comfy!

LoveVintage · 01/11/2017 23:47

Agree with SleepyHead - Molke bras are amazing and come in fab fabrics.

MyKingdomForBrie · 01/11/2017 23:51

Can’t bear being braless since I got pregant two years ago. Don’t understand how I used to sleep without one!! Probably because before breastfeeding they didn’t droop around quite so much..

MyKingdomForBrie · 01/11/2017 23:52

*pregnant!! Ffs

RubbishMantra · 01/11/2017 23:57

I love my sleep bra. Sainsbury crop top current fave.
