how the flipping heck does Nigella look like that?

She's got great cheekbones and fantastic skin and has probably has had something done, but subtly.

However it's actually quite possible for anyone to look good at any age!

She's a beautiful woman with obviously good genes, but she also has a lot of help.

She's got quite a lot of fillers, and a bit of Botox. It's not especially subtle work, she just has the kind of features that can pull it off. On TV she wears wigs or extensions, and a ton of make-up. And the lighting is about as flattering as it gets.

She is naturally beautiful. I guess the question is how does she manage at the age of 57 to still look as if she's 40, and I don't know whether that's to do with lighting, make-up or plastic surgery, or indeed all three. Or whether she has somehow naturally managed not to age in the past 15 or 20 years.

I love her cooking. She is a lazy cook, which I am too - so her style really suits me. I also love butter, cream and all things naughty, so I like that too.

In front of the camera, she does still look really good, as she does on the cover of magazines too - but she has had a fair bit of cosmetic work done. Just google-image her, if you are in doubt about that. She also has hair extensions or a weave for her publicity stuff, because when you see her without, she actually has quite thin hair now.

That said, I don't think any less of her for getting all the work done. A lot of her appeal/USP is the way she looks, so I can see why she'd want to carry on with that.

Well she's 58 not 98 for starters!
Good genes, plenty of cash, never had to drag bags of shopping home on the bus/up a hill, good lighting, editing. We could all look more glamorous if we had the time and money to spend on ourselves - and it's part of her job to maintain that image. I thought she looked fantastic but not actually years younger than she is.

I agree she doesn't look particularly "young". She looks like a 58 year old with good genes, money and the time and motivation to keep looking good.

Nowt wrong with that at any age....

She is naturally very attractive but she has had a fair bit of high-quality work done. I would say a subtle face-lift (the kind Louise Mensch allegedly had done), Botox and subtle fillers.

Plus very regular professional beauty and hair treatments.

Plus quite heavy makeup, professional styling/staging and good studio lighting.

Plus keeping to the right weight for her (very good) bone structure - not getting too thin for her build.

I wish people would stop saying she has good genes. Her mother died in her 40s and her sister died in her 30s. I know we're talking about 'good genes in a beauty sense' but still...

I agree with the poster who says that she doesn't look all that much younger than 58. She just looks like she has great genes, health, hair, bone structure, really looks after herself, knows what suits her....

I see other women of a similar vintage who look nearly as good all the tiem.

My friend is 60 and she looks stunning. She's the same age as my mum and doesn't look much older than me! She says it's because she's got great Jewish genes. Hahahaha. She actually bears a striking resemblance to Nigella. Plus my pal has had no work done on her face.

Too thin on the front cover of her new book. Its the look that screams "I'm starving myself" and trying too hard. But I never bothered with her cookery shows selling a lifestyle that has nothing to do with my reality!

Massive woman crush on Nigella here, my mum had nothing good to say about her and it smacked of jealousy to me. How could you not look at her and see a beautiful woman? I’d be happy if I looked like her at 38 lol.

She has great genes from her mother. She does look different to how she used to - (nearly) everyone on TV has fillers and botox (I use botox so not knocking it). I've also had other subtle work done that people don't realise unless I tell them (which I do when told I look good for my age). Whenever a celeb comes back to the screens looking different/better after a few months away, it's very likely they've been having work. Who can blame them - it's an investment and extends their career.

Also you only have to see the contrast between how the Strictly celebs look in training and how they look on Sat nights (TV make up plus lighting plus camera filters) to realise how much TV can make everyone look better, let alone the already attractive,

I have seen her in real life admittedly when she was with her ex. I agree with the posters who said good lighting, make-up artists, hair extensions and pieces. I think she has probably had a gastric band or similar to lose weight.
