To think we've made a mistake and return this tap

I think it may be too big and in your face. Does it?

Also can I return it as it's been fitted? Not really used it other than to check it works.

If you are returning anything it should be the awful sink, not the tap.

justalittlelemondrizzle · 31/10/2017 01:44

Wow such hatred towards the sink. We just needed a newer version of the old one we had. Not a massive budget. Definately wasn't the cheapest sink in the shop btw.
FYI. A quick look on rightmove shows 95% of houses for sale with the same style of sink.

Anyway the tap is gone. I've bought a smaller. More minimalist mixer tap and it looks much better.

Sorry to be cheeky, please one of the owners of this tap give me a linky? I would love something like this when —if— I ever get a new kitchen.

RunningOutOfCharge · 31/10/2017 01:49

I doubt they will take it back if youve run water through it.... even to test (m

It’s not faulty

Would you buy it if it had been fitted? I know I wouldn’t!

PepsiPolarBear · 31/10/2017 01:54

Sink is fine but tap is ugly, sounds like you've got a better tap now

justalittlelemondrizzle · 31/10/2017 12:07

Better?

Much! Now they match.

Spangles1963 · 31/10/2017 19:51

I love those type of taps and I want one!

baffledcoconut · 31/10/2017 21:13

Ha that’s our tap. Same sink too. Much better.

ASDismynormality · 31/10/2017 21:18

Looks much better!

SilverSpot · 31/10/2017 21:21

Yes looks much better.

I still hate the sink tho - I have exactly the same one in my current house and long for my lovely, quality, deep 1.5 sink in the last house. Was a million times nicer to use.

BriechonCheese · 31/10/2017 21:23

Love the tap, loathe the sink.

BriechonCheese · 31/10/2017 21:25

Sorry thread moved on, yes that is much better!

Did they let you return the tap even though you had removed it from the packaging and fitted it???

BriechonCheese · 31/10/2017 21:43

Forgiveness
Screwfix allowed us to return our utility tap when we decided we wanted a new one. It has been tentatively fitted to the worktop but was easy to remove and they were happy to accept as we had all the parts, box etc.

MuncheysMummy · 31/10/2017 22:08

No you can't take it back just because you've changed your mind! What is the shop supposed to do with it now you've fitted and used it?? They can't sell it so why should it cost them for you to change your mind?!

SouthWestmom · 31/10/2017 22:19

Op I am really disturbed by your sink which is the wrong way round. I have never seen a sink that way round.
I love the tap though (first one)

justalittlelemondrizzle · 31/10/2017 22:36

It can go either way round. That's why it has two tap holes. It's the same way round as the previous sink. There's a window to the right. Therefore it looks right in my kitchen. Otherwise my draining board would be next to my hob

Yes a sink is a sink in my eyes too. It's not a posh kitchen. A posh sink would look as odd as the posh tap in a standard sink.

SouthWestmom · 31/10/2017 23:08

Just I feel like I’ve led a very sheltered life. I’ve only seen draining boards to the left and plug holes at the back. I feel as though my kitchen basic knowledge has been shattered.

kali110 · 31/10/2017 23:11

I loved the tap Confused

justalittlelemondrizzle · 31/10/2017 23:22

You're going to see right handed sinks everywhere now noeuf haha! Just had a quick look on rightmove to investigate and there's plenty of them Halloween Grin

I love it but sorry, I think it perhaps it is a little too big for the sink. We have a tap like that but it is in a sink in an island and is very much the centre piece of quite an industrial style kitchen. If it is anything like ours ie very heavy and leaning forward - our fitter needed to add additiional weight to the underside to weigh it down. If you don't it will warp your sink over time. If you like it keep it - but make sure it is secure and well supported.

Honest opinion - If you still have all the packaging, I would take it back.

OldWitch00 · 01/11/2017 05:26

Yes better
