Pregnant naked selfies in the bath...

OMG. Is this a thing now??

A friend of mine is 12 weeks pregnant and has just posted on FB - where she has like 800 friends - a naked selfie of her bump in the bath. So bump, pubes hidden by bump, and legs.

All I could think was (1) eurgh, (2) why?? and (3) how inappropriate it was. Why does she want 800 people seeing her naked in the bath? And if anyone comments on the photo, all THEIR friends would be able to see the photo as well.

Should I say anything to her??

Say something? Roflol

Babababababybel23 · 29/10/2017 19:40

I did a picture like this when I was pregnant. I was 38 weeks though and just managed to squeeze myself into the bath. I did strategically place bubbles just in case but there was no need to as you couldn't see anything past my bump.
If you don't like then don't look at her pictures. I guarantee there will be a lot more annoying pregnancy pictures to come.

Katedotness1963 · 29/10/2017 19:42

A bump at 12 weeks? I got to 18 without realizing I was pregnant....

Gemini69 · 29/10/2017 19:42

oh dear... it's going to be a very long boring selfie obsessed pregnancy OP... restrict her posts now lol Grin

BuzzKillington · 29/10/2017 19:43

I like the idea of taking photos - I love the ones I have.

But sharing on social media is beyond weird. Some people do not have a decorum barometer.

Birdsgottafly · 29/10/2017 19:43

Her FB, she can post what she wants on it.

What would you say to her?

"how inappropriate it was", how so?

AuldHeathen · 29/10/2017 19:46

Time to count foetuses, l’d say.

Sultanainasalad · 29/10/2017 19:47

It's a 'thing' over here in America, one of the many pregnancy things I roll my eyes at over here....

amibeingaprude · 29/10/2017 19:55

Ha, like gender reveal parties/cakes and baby showers?

Yep, friend is becoming a pregnancy bore. Think I need to block her posts on FB... It's like she's the only person who's ever been pregnant...

I reckon I had a bump pretty much from the moment of conception with DC4 - my stomach muscles just threw in the towel and gave up. By the time I reached 40 weeks the bump was held up by a surgical belt alone. So yes, there could well be the smallest of bumps at 12 weeks.

Goshthatwentwell · 29/10/2017 20:00

She excited, it's a photo of her stomach. Big deal. When people start showing pictures of their birth canal I might be a bit eye roll.

Lifeisforliving25 · 29/10/2017 20:08

It's just a body 😂I've never understood why people are so against naked bodies we all have them !

SuperBeagle · 29/10/2017 20:09

There's a trend where I am to have maternity photos taken in the bath. It's always a milky bath with lots of flowers etc. floating about.

I find it naff, but I'm not one for maternity shoots in general.

MrMagnoliasBoot · 29/10/2017 20:12

If all you can see is bare stomach and legs I wouldn't get worked up about it. Same as seeing someone in a crop top and shorts for me.

OnlyToday · 29/10/2017 20:29

I'd think it a bit daft Ina the same way I think a lot of the posed selfies are but my main thought would be concern about the risk of her dropping her phone in the bath. 🤔

Sultanainasalad · 29/10/2017 20:30

Don't forget the professions photography session, the boudoir shots, the daddy diaper party....

TipsNotHacks · 29/10/2017 20:46

It's pathetic - I am with you OP. I always wonder what my (long dead) great grandmother would make of all this self indulgent bollocks. You're naked in the bath, stop getting overexcited and take a second to actually think about what you're plastering on the Internet.

Linzilou1985 · 29/10/2017 20:52

How do you know she even has pubes? Grin

I do tend to agree, inappropriate. Attention seeking?

FucksakeCuntingFuckingTwats · 29/10/2017 20:52

So basically people can see the exact same as what they'd see if she were in the swimming pool. Yabu.

silkpyjamasallday · 29/10/2017 21:09

I have very little respect for anyone who posts naked photos of themselves online, it's nothing but attention seeking, but nudity on the internet is so commonplace you wonder why they think anyone will be particularly interested. Just block her posts OP, no doubt you and the rest of her 'friends' will be subjected to many many more pregnancy photo shoots in varying states of undress. Seeing this self absorbed ridiculousness was part of the reason I got rid of Facebook altogether, best decision I've made for a while!

ForalltheSaints · 29/10/2017 21:16

Facebook HQ usually go into meltdown about nudity- post a picture with a gun and you'll be OK probably.

teabagfreak · 29/10/2017 21:18

I quite like when someone on my friends list shares a pregnancy pic, beats looking at some of the stupid videos of cats dressed up or some of the shit that’s posted nowadays 🙄

ProfessorCat · 29/10/2017 21:20

Why on earth do you care? Just scroll past. It's not rocket science.

ghostyslovesheets · 29/10/2017 21:22

Not sure it's a new thing - I gave 2 black and white pics of my mum in the bath (standing) covering her 'modesty' while pg with my sister - who is 51 now!

bingbongnoise · 29/10/2017 21:27

YABU. So what? Just unfollow.

HERE is a pic of a women who is 12 weeks pregnant. No bump. I call bullshit.
