We just got out of hospital with DD after 2 months on Wednesday !
We have had very little sleep since due to cares and nurses coming every morning.
DSS10 has been away all week and come back today after a very sporty week
Today - I did the cleaning and bathed the kids well 1 the other bathed himself !
We have school run and 2 appointments tomorrow.

So we are lounged in the bedroom watching TV both on their tablets watching you tube in their pyjamas waiting on McDonald's to be delivered.
They haven't apart from being in the bath moved and I'm snuggled under my duvet 😂

MIL turns up to drop her keys off and was absolutely disgusted that this is what we do whilst dh is working !

Obviously, if the house isn't clean and tidy when dh gets in, dh can crack on and tidy it while his wife gets on with cuddling their sick child.

Although I thought we'd established that dh was expecting his tea on a paper bag on the duvet tonight?

grannytomine · 29/10/2017 17:50

Sounds like a lovely day, I'd be jealous if I walked in on DIL and GC like that, maybe she wanted to join in? On a serious note having children in hospital is so exhausting in my experience, for you and them so I don't think a slobbing out day is unreasonable. (we call these days slobbing out days and now my kids are too big for them I sometimes have them with GC.)

Lifeisforliving25 · 29/10/2017 17:52

My dh never expects his tea on the table 😂😂😂
We don't even have a table haha

I'd have popped tound (after checking first) with some nice food to save you cooking, and some little treats for the kids. And I'd have done any little jobs that needed doing while I was there

Can I send you my address?

grannytomine · 29/10/2017 17:55

We had roast beef today, my DH would much prefer McD, don't know why I bother cooking really. My DD won't eat a roast so she did something separate. Thank God for SIL who appreciates me even when my own flesh and blood don't.

Lifeisforliving25 · 29/10/2017 17:57

AnywAy my quiet Sunday has gone out the window as we now have 2 of DS class friends around until tomorrow 😂🙈🖕it's gone from leave to carnage in an hour !!

MIL always comments if she comes over and we're in our PJs, I always point out that we often change into PJs when we're not planning to go out again, and we're not expecting visitors :)

Lifeisforliving25 · 29/10/2017 17:59

Didn't mean the finger icon :0 apologies 🙄

Jean - Is there a fan club I can join?! It would be too much like hard work to organise one, we can have a virtual drink together Grin

EvilDemonRaspberryOverlord · 29/10/2017 18:05

PJ days are rare, but definitely appreciated. I'm a single parent and DD, DS and I sometimes curl up in the front room together with food I can serve in a bowl, some cheerful tv and just chill.

Doing Quesadillas tonight, and DBro is coming along for some. Nice and easy.

MistressPage · 29/10/2017 18:08

YANBU. We all need a PJ day sometimes and my goodness after what you've been through you need a PJ month! I hope your little daughter makes a swift recovery and your MIL takes her cats bum judginess elsewhere! Flowers

thecatsthecats · 29/10/2017 18:08

I have the tiniest cold ever, and after an hour in the garden hoofing about bits of wood, I had a bath and settled down in a t-shirt on the sofa. Went for a walk round the park, then have watched my fiance do his chores when he came back from the football. Fish finger sandwiches for dinner.

Lovely stuff.

JeanSeberg · 29/10/2017 18:08

Ha ha good point Ragwort - cheers Wine!

IceBearRocks · 29/10/2017 18:12

We do hospital loads and have two SN kids. DS10 walking in the door and strips to his pants before the door is shut! Severly disabled DS 8 loves being in a onesie!!!
MIL lives 1 mile away and offer turns up unannounced and just opens the front door !
She's always disgusted! I may be in my PJ's too...as that's how I clean ...I'm not ruining good clothes cleaning!
Problem though..... No one delivers food round here!!!!
Enjoy!??

Keepthebloodynoisedown · 29/10/2017 18:15

My only excuse for lounging around in pjs all day is that it’s a Sunday. It sounds like you need a rest day as more than anyone.
Now can we get back to the most important point of your op, which is that McDonald’s deliver!

gamerchick · 29/10/2017 18:18

Do McDonalds deliver? misses point

I know, how did I not know this?!

Sounds like a ruddy mint day OP. I’m still in my nightclothes.. you did better than me doing the bath thing Grin I love Sunday’s.

ipswichwitch · 29/10/2017 18:25

We get the "are you still in your pj's?" from MIL if she calls in on a weekend/school holiday. I wouldn't care but this is the woman who doesn't get up on a weekend before 11am!

bigkidsdidit · 29/10/2017 18:26

No one is ill or just out of hospital here and we've not left the house! The children have had a bath and put new clean pjs on. We did spend 4 hours on a mega Lego competition, though, and watched two films 🙂

Fantasticday69 · 29/10/2017 18:28

The bloody midwife made a comment about me being in Pjs when she came round the day after discharge following a C-section. So glad she was only a relief one.
Op Yabu.

Fantasticday69 · 29/10/2017 18:29

Poxy auto-correct ynbu

Emboo19 · 29/10/2017 18:47

You are definitely not being unreasonable Op.

BUT THIS......Do McDonalds deliver? misses point I’ve just had to beg my ex to bring me one, when he brings DD back.

Trb17 · 29/10/2017 18:54

DD(10) and I actually plan PJ days during the hols. We don’t open the curtains, we get duvets downstairs, ignore the door if anyone knocks, put on films and eat crap for a day. Bliss. YANBU. Tell MIL to mind her own beeswax.

Ummmmgogo · 29/10/2017 18:59

Maybe she is just jealous because her kids would have trashed the entire house and started fighting each other by 10am? that was my reaction to your day anyway 😂 hope you had fun!

Maelstrop · 29/10/2017 19:14

I had a blood clot, bloody hurts. I was told to move round lots but didn't get meds after a major operation til the clot appeared. Is dd getting anti-coagulant injections?

Sounds like a fab day. On my wedding day, my bio to be wasn't feeling well, so he crawled into bed with his mum who also wasn't too well and had a lazy morning! I thought it was a fab idea!

Lifeisforliving25 · 29/10/2017 19:41

Maelstrop yes she is on injections every morning and 2 weekly bloods.
She has the blood around her central line ( currently a picc line )
But usually has a Hickman line.
