We just got out of hospital with DD after 2 months on Wednesday !
We have had very little sleep since due to cares and nurses coming every morning.
DSS10 has been away all week and come back today after a very sporty week
Today - I did the cleaning and bathed the kids well 1 the other bathed himself !
We have school run and 2 appointments tomorrow.

So we are lounged in the bedroom watching TV both on their tablets watching you tube in their pyjamas waiting on McDonald's to be delivered.
They haven't apart from being in the bath moved and I'm snuggled under my duvet 😂

MIL turns up to drop her keys off and was absolutely disgusted that this is what we do whilst dh is working !

Currently sitting with my feet up, wearing scroungy clothes and wrapped in a blanket, and (obvs) MNing. Which I intend to be doing most of the day. Any meals round here are either going to be takeaway or something microwave.

I'm a MiL. And your MiL can fuck right off! Days like this are what brings a family together.

Eolian · 29/10/2017 15:47

Sounds like you deserved a lazy day! I personally hate staying in pyjamas and would rather have a curry than a McDonald's, but that wouldn't stop me having a lazy day!

TinklyLittleLaugh · 29/10/2017 15:51

Your DD has just come out of hospital? Good lord, her lack of empathy is shocking. I'd have popped tound (after checking first) with some nice food to save you cooking, and some little treats for the kids. And I'd have done any little jobs that needed doing while I was there.

You are absolutely not unreasonable, she sounds horrid. I hope your DD is back to full health soon.

Whatsername17 · 29/10/2017 15:59

I can't think of a more perfect Sunday. We are all lounging today. It's been a mental week and I want a break.

Allabitmuchisntit · 29/10/2017 16:11

Wait......McDonald's deliver?!

CigarsofthePharoahs · 29/10/2017 16:16

Nobody gets to the end of their life and thinks "Oh, I wish I'd spent more time cleaning and tidying and less time cuddling my children."
Enjoy your BigMac. I love a lazy day.

Shockers · 29/10/2017 16:23

I've only just donned my pyjama bottoms. I've cleaned the house and hung two loads of washing out, dressed in nothing but a hoody and knickers. The only reason for this uncharacteristic movement on a Sunday, is that we're going away tomorrow, otherwise I would mostly have been horizontal on the sofa.

I work hard all week and need some down time. You've had a lot going on and need it even more!

McDonalds though..? Envy (not envy).

JourneyToThePlacentaOfTheEarth · 29/10/2017 16:30

So glad to hear your daughter is better.

McDonald's deliver? Wtaf

Your day sounds like my idea of heaven

Ragwort · 29/10/2017 16:34

There seems to be a trend for 'competitive busyness' these days, everyone wants to justify how 'busy' and self important they are - and really, to what end? Confused.

I make a conscious effort not to be busy Grin - I am fortunate in that I only need to work part time, my housekeeping standards are incredibly low, I never garden, I do have quite a few hobbies and interests but I make sure I only spend the time I want on them, I rarely accept social invitations - I would rather spend my free time quietly slobbing at home.

Why does everyone seem to need to prove how 'busy' they are all the time?

JellyBabiesSaveLives · 29/10/2017 16:42

Wow. Text her and say that you got the kids dressed, and the effort has exhausted you for the week so her cats are just going to have to starve.

ShellyBoobs · 29/10/2017 16:48

Bollocks to what MIL thinks.

Anyway, never mind all that. I’m agog at the talk of McDonald’s delivering! Shock

Where is this paradise on earth you speak of?

butterfly56 · 29/10/2017 16:49

I've got both my early teens grandsons coming for a sleepover this week!
We will all be in our pjs after D has dropped them off.

All lounging on the sofa.
Playing on Playstation and watching Netflix! Eating Pizza and snacks!
I have been housebound for a couple of years now so cannot get out like I used to taking them to places.
They have been so great just accepting things are different for me now with limited mobility and activity.
I would rather we did this than not see them at all. Grin

ShellyBoobs · 29/10/2017 16:54

I bet they absolutely love it, butterfly56!

Once they get to that sort of age they probably prefer doing the more active stuff without adults, anyway.

ilovepixie · 29/10/2017 16:57

OMG you can get MCDonalds delivered! That is epic! Where do you live!!

Nikephorus · 29/10/2017 17:00

It's Sunday, that alone makes it acceptable.

Warhammerwidow89 · 29/10/2017 17:02

You should have said your two days early for trick or treating! Nosy Madame!

Blatherskite · 29/10/2017 17:06

Our MacDonalds won't deliver. It's not fair :(

I ran a 10k this morning, DD had her swimming lesson and DS has been at his friend's house - it's been a sofa day here too

Judydreamsofhorses · 29/10/2017 17:19

Yesterday I spent my afternoon having a three-hour bath with a load of magazines, and simply put on fresh pyjamas. In the evening DP cooked dinner (but we did have a takeaway the night before) and we watched Strictly/X Factor/Stranger Things while drinking wine and guzzling crisps. Surely this is the point of weekends, especially now it’s cold and dark?

SweetCrustPastry · 29/10/2017 17:19

You should enjoy your day in pjs. Some people just don;'t know how to recognise the need to chill and recharge and that's their problem. You do realise your kids will be starving after macdonalds though don't you? hope you have lots of chocolate in.

Lifeisforliving25 · 29/10/2017 17:25

We live in London 😂They signed a contract with ubereatz you order it McDonald's prepares it and ubereatz collects at my door from breakfast to 2 am on 10-15 minutes for ordering 😂

LynetteScavo · 29/10/2017 17:33

I've been known to put my PJs during the day when I know MIL will drop by, just to make a point Grin

Whiskers4 · 29/10/2017 17:33

We never have PJ days here, just the kind of family we are, everyone was up before I left for work at 7.30am. Putting that aside, as long as your DH hasn't got any objection, the house is reasonably clean and tidy and he gets his tea on the table, I wouldn't worry about what MIL thinks.

Whiskers4 Have I slipped through a wormhole into the 1950s?

Ragwort you are my new role model! Is there a fan club I can join?!
