I bloody love horror films!!

Can I go a bit left field and suggest The Purge? I've enjoyed all three of them and if you're looking for slashers then they're definitely that!!

The Exorcist - a classic. Truly terrifying
The Shining - chilling and gave me nightmares for weeks!

I'm a right wimp now when it comes to horror films but you can't go wrong with these 2. Enjoy!

Hostel 1 and Hostel 2 both really scary films
Human Centipede 1 and 2 both really gory sickening films

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 28/10/2017 10:42

I know someone irl who was in The Human Centipede 2 Grin

I recommend The Orphanage, Pan’s Labyrinth and The Devil’s Backbone. Really creepy films. There’s a scene in The Orphanage when the character finds a cellar and has to go down the stairs. I was in the cinema and there was a groan from us all when that happened. It looked like the cellar to hell. So scary!

Silience of the lambs.. hannable and the rest.. ( There are sadly my go to movie when I'm sad to..)

Exozisim of Emily rose... made scarier that it's based on a true story

userabcname · 28/10/2017 16:16

The only horror film I have seen is The Ring and I sobbed with fear through most of it, so that might be good.

Thesmallthings · 28/10/2017 16:18

Net flicks mindhunter is pretty good.. not as movie but still creepy in a v real way...

deloresclaiborne · 28/10/2017 16:48

not a film but the enfield haunting is on sky living tonight all 3 episode back to back

clockworklime · 28/10/2017 16:49

Blair Witch Project is always a good one. Only film (apart from Paranormal Activity) that genuinely made me almost poo myself

WiccanWonder · 28/10/2017 16:51

Nightmare before Christmas is amazing!
I adore the nightmare on elm streets this time of year, or would you rather is a good one.

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 28/10/2017 17:02

taytopotato · 28/10/2017 18:15

The Ring (japanese version)
The Grudge (also japanese version)

TurtleCavalryIsSeriousShit · 29/10/2017 06:34

Ooh thanks Damn

StellaRockafella · 29/10/2017 09:16

I'm not a fan of blood and gore which so want/expect from a horror film. For me, horror has always been more of a psychological nature.

Not sure if you're watching with children, but if you are, some of these aren't suitable for young children.

The Innocents
Psycho
The Shining
Don't Look Now
The Birds
The Wicker Man
The Exorcist
Carrie
Let The Right One In (either the original Swedish version or the US remake)
The Others

Thornyrose7 · 29/10/2017 09:24

I second The Orphanage. It's more of a psychological thriller as opposed to blood and gore. It's really chilling!
