AIBU to think this is a fantastic present

It's my birthday today, so yesterday DH took DS (age 3) to buy me a present, safe in the knowledge that my main present had been delivered and just needed to be wrapped. So I'm now the proud owner of a 10 colour Star Wars biro (and a packet of Tangfastics). It's the sort of thing I'd never ever buy for myself (well maybe the Haribo) and I think it's a brilliant present. Can't wait till I next have to take notes at work.

Anyone else had any obscure but fantastic presents from their kids?

My DC1 recently bought me some anatomically correct skeleton socks. I adore them almost as much as they love the set of pastel highlighters that I got for them a week earlier.

I work with someone who has a marvel heros pencil case, from such circumstances, and I have a friend who said he knew his new girlfriend was the one for him, when she gave him a light sabre for his birthday.

I do the pound shop thing with the DCs for DH.

I am very miffed though, DH never organises the dc to get me a present though.

So lovely, I am very jealous! It's my birthday soon...last year I got a gift from dd1 and dd2 but nothing from ds...they even forgot to sign his name in my card Hmm

We took my niece to London last year around my birthday. She stayed in the m and m shop with my dh when I went outside. A few days later she gave me an m and m dispenser. I just know her thinking would have been that she would love one so she will get me one as it is the best thing ever. I love it.

Last year I won a prize in a chess tournament. Dd was gutted that the "prize" was "only money". She thought I deserved a trophy. So she made me a wee wonky trophy out of cardboard and an entire roll of sticky tape. It was utterly gorgeous. I took it in to my chess club the following week to show it off.
